I want to share our experience with GREG’s groom ’n room in Kemah for anyone considering taking their dog there. My daughter took her Mini Schnauzer puppy in for grooming and showed the groomer the INSPO photo included here. We live in the area and chose this groomer because he was much closer to home. This was not her first grooming. She had previously been groomed and they did a beautiful job. I have included pictures showing exactly what she looked like before this appointment, the inspo picture my daughter showed him, and what she looked like after. My daughter was originally told it would take about two hours. When the two hour mark approached, the groomer told her the puppy was being difficult. My daughter specifically asked if she was being bad. He told her not to worry, that she was a puppy and would grow out of it, and that he could still get her haircut done. Not once during that conversation did he tell my daughter that he could not complete the haircut she requested or that he needed to shave her this short. Another hour went by before he called and said she was ready. She paid $90 with tip for the service before seeing the finished haircut. When she picked her up, she was so upset that she left and called me crying. Her puppy's body, neck, and legs had been shaved extremely short. This looked nothing like what she expected based on the picture she provided. When I contacted the groomer afterward, he again explained that she had been difficult to groom and that they had trouble getting the clippers near her. I understand that puppies can be difficult. What I don't understand is this: if he knew during the appointment that he was having that much difficulty, why did he specifically tell my daughter he could still do her haircut? Why didn't he call her and say he couldn't safely give her the cut she requested and give her the option to stop? He had her phone number. I asked him to contact my daughter because she was extremely upset and see what they could work out. He never called her. When I called him again and asked whether he was willing to offer any type of compensation, his answer was no. I'm not posting this to be hateful or attack anyone. I'm sharing our experience because I would want another pet owner to warn me. You can decide for yourself whether this is a grooming result you would be comfortable paying for.

Amazing place. Greg and his staff did such an amazing job with my furbaby. I could tell right away when I picked her up that she felt so much better. Being a German Shepherd/Husky mix she has alot of fur and getting that undercoat out for the heat of the summer is extremely important. Highly recommend taking those precious furbabies here. Greg and his staff do amazing work. Plus side they have a store for humans with some really cute cloths and shoes. Must place to visit today!
