Highly overpriced for average level work.
The people are friendly and professional, but 12k for 5hrs of amateur work seems excessive. Half of the cost went into the supports shown in the picture. I can't fathom how it cost an extra 6k for these three supports that took <1hr to install. I know prices are high these days, but still...

Highly recommend HK construction! Alyson recognized water stains on our ceiling post Hurricane Helene and advised us to file an insurance claim. We had not thought about the possibility of this damage being covered by our insurance and appreciate her letting us know our options.

As a Director of Property Management, I’ve used HK Construction for renovations and roofing work, and they have consistently done an outstanding job. HK sets the standard for what a construction company should be. I’ve worked with Joe Keane for several years, and he is one of the most impressive, knowledgeable, and trustworthy professionals I’ve met in the industry. He’s excellent at diagnosing issues, getting to the root of the problem, and making sure the right solution is implemented.
HK delivers quality work, communicates well, responds quickly, and prices jobs fairly. Just as important, they operate with integrity and professionalism from start to finish. Joe’s leadership and expertise make HK an easy company to recommend. If you want a team you can trust to handle the job the right way, HK Construction is it.

We went with HK Construction after Helene came through and an oak tree went through our house, just 6 weeks after moving in. They helped us fight the insurance to get them to replace the roof that they only wanted to pay to have patched. They did a wonderful job of making all repairs all while we lived in a construction zone. All of the employees and contractors were very professional and great to work with. They did extensive repairs and it looks like nothing ever happened. We even had them come back to install new carpets and they look great!

HK Construction was very good to work with. They did a great job replacing our roof in a timely and professional manner due to Hail damage we had. Sam Horton helped us throughout this entire process and was very professional and great to work with. Sam is very knowledgeable about the roofing business. I would highly recommend HK construction and Sam for your roofing needs.

HK Construction & Service, specifically Sam Horton, provided me the best experience I have ever had with any contractor. I have over 5 years of personal experience with residential framing and have worked with hundreds of contractors and he is simply the best I have ever encountered.
For some context - my wife and I were under contract to sell our home and had agreed to replace the roof for the buyers. We had been working with a different contractor that the buyers preferred who lost my trust, and I needed to find somebody who could come out and provide a quote and guarantee they could complete the work before our closing date of Nov 30th.
I contacted Sam for the first time on November 15th at 6:25pm. The next morning he was at my house inspecting the roof. At this point, my insurance company had agreed to pay out less than $1000 for a repair of ~75 shingles. Sam was knowledgeable of their own written policies and came off of my roof telling me he thinks he could get additional coverage. By the evening of the 16th I had a quote in hand, and Sam had emailed my adjuster (with my copied on) with a detailed review w/ pictures of why their initial response of a repair was going to cause additional damage and break their own policy for coverage. Sam went above and beyond and was able to get a crew to replace my roof even with Thanksgiving falling between my initial contact with him and our closing date.
Sam was on site each day personally assisting with the work and walking with a magnet to collect stray nails and debris. He was also an extremely good communicator and responsive whenever I needed anything.
My wife and I had assumed that insurance would deny additional coverage, but because of Sam's email they ended up fully covering the replacement of the roof. I cannot express how thankful we are to Sam Horton and how he went above and beyond to assist our family during a stressful time of transition.
If you need any work to be done you would be blessing yourself to contact Sam Horton.
