House Rabbit Society at a glance

Reviewers highlight services such as low-cost spay and neuter, boarding, grooming, and adoption, alongside a well-stocked shop for supplies and online educational classes. Customers frequently praise the staff’s friendliness, helpfulness, and the organization’s commitment to rabbit welfare and community support. The primary criticism in low-star reviews concerns the management of social media, with detractors arguing that the organization prioritizes donor engagement and member personalities over the safety and placement of rabbits.

HRS is so sweet! I like coming by to buy supplies and looking at all the cute bunnies waiting to be adopted. The staff are doing such a good job. And the online programs are great. I took my bun for in person speed dating to find him a friend

Got one of my bunnies neutered here y'day. His recovery's been smooth so far although he didn't eat anything he was fed there post-surgery (he was very drowsy).

I miss living close to HRS Richmond. I used to buy supplies there and and boarded our two bunnies (RIP Austin and Jack) there often.

What's not to love? They have so many bunnies and rabbits. Plus all the supplies for any and all bunny and the rabbit needs. We fostered a bunny for a month and it was an amazing experience. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a bunny or a rabbit.

I loved boarding my buns here. They took such good care of them -- especially my boy who had chronic stasis. I trusted them implicitly and love that they have a shop to get your bunny needs too. If you need hay -- they have it!

HRS is the best! The HopShop is a great place to shop for all your rabbit care needs, they have low cost spay and neuters in the shelter, they board your bunnies if you have to take a trip (and they take such good care of them!), and have a monthly pantry for bunny owners in need. This is such a great caring place for people who care about rabbits and the community.

Their social media is terrible. They care more about the feelings of the owners than the safety of the bunnies. This is no longer an organization looking after the good of bunnies. They're looking after donations. Support rescues doing good work.
