I LOVE this class. I am writing a novel, not a movie, (who knows...I might someday), but I gain SO MUCH out of every week. Jake is so knowledgeable and such a great decent human being. I'm so grateful this exists.

You can learn so much more to write your very own scripts. You can ask questions and the teacher can answer them. You can even meet award winning screenwriters. This s a safe environment. I love this class. I make it a point to join every Thursday. And the way Jacob Krueger articulates screenplay issues and how to resolve them is clear and impressive. He's also an incredibly engaging speaker, so I enjoy listening to him explain, well, anything. I plan to take his screenplay writing class in the future.
Stumbled across the Thursday Night Writes class via Jacob's podcast, and have become a devoted attendee. Every session the studio's teachers share invaluable writing advice, hands on exercises and generous feedback. The zoom atmosphere is hugely supportive and there's no hard sell. Jacob is an incredible guy with an incredible mind and yes, incredible enthusiasm and warmth. As I do the Thursday night sessions I feel I am not only getting new tools for the screenwriting toolbox but also understanding elements I thought I already understood yet really didn't. Wonderful, unpretentious and positive teaching with a dynamic master of screenwriting.
Learning much on Thursday nights. Thank you.
Jacob Krueger has a heart for teaching and is abundantly gifted both in writing and teaching. I have taken quite a few screenwriting classes and even his level one screenwriting class — Write Your Screenplay — far surpassed even advanced classes that I have taken from other places. It is that good. I don't think it's too farfetched to call it life changing for your writing. It was for mine. I wasn't paid to write this review, I just felt compelled to support a man and his faculty and staff that I believe are doing great work, but more importantly, I want to support honest people that have a heart. The way Jacob teaches and interacts with students, it's impossible not to feel that he cares about you and your progress as a writer and not just being another number. That comes through loud and clear in his generosity and in how he runs his studio as well. He offers a guarantee that you’ll love the first class, and even just reading the description on his guarantee, it's not only about wanting everyone to be happy with their class it’s about trying to help you progress as a writer. I think that speaks volumes. There are also a variety of class and mentoring options from beginning to advanced, to monthly one-offs and they work with you to try to find the best options based on your time, skill, and financial concerns. The point being, he doesn’t have to run his studio this way. He chooses to. Also, he runs a class called Thursday Night Writes completely free of charge every week, so he really does practice what he preaches in supporting writers, even writers that can’t afford classes. Overall, I can't say enough positive praise for my experience. I am very thankful that I found Jacob and his studio. It has been great for my writing, and also for my life. I cannot thank you enough!
Jacob is a fantastic teacher! Would highly recommend his class
Thursday Night Writes has been one of the most amazing experiences, not just in regard to writing, but it feeds the soul, too. I have enjoyed every single class, each teaching me so much as I navigate this new path. Jake's teaching methods are wonderful. Every class is more like a meditation on one or a set of elements to improve not just our writing but ourselves and how we perceive our own work. You can really feel when he gets the class in sync; it is magical. The goal is always teaching, building us up, and keeping everything fresh, not leaning on the same methodology and practices. Gratitude is constant, whether it is the students to the JKS crew or vice versa, and everyone is uplifting, positive, and only affords a safe space for growth. The message is always refreshing, enlightening, and diverse, which has me coming back for more every week! We love you, the team, and this amazing space you have created for us to grow and learn. THANK YOU!
