What an awesome place. One of the most unique homes I'd ever been in. A must visit while in the region, even if you have to go out of your way a little bit. Pictures won't do it justice.

What a great surprise to find this just an hour and a half from Raleigh on my way to the mountains. Was gonna shell out $90 for Biltmore, but this got my fix for Gilded Age architecture, amazing furnishings, and hey, they even let you take pics! For only $15! However, if you have a big build or over 6 ft, you may have some difficulty in 1 or 2 hallways and rooms. There's some very narrow hallways and stairs, in one room with a ceiling of 5'5. Overall, it was a fantastic visit.

Was gonna shell out $90 for Biltmore, but this got my fix for Gilded Age architecture, amazing furnishings, and hey, they even let you take pics! For only $15! I don't want to spoil the finalie with the top floor theater. Just wow, the guide at the Visitor Center (yes, watch the video first!) and the docent that greeted my entry were both friendly and informative. I told everyone they HAVE to take a day trip to see this! And Kernersville has a classic car museum too, gotta come back for that and do the house...AGAIN!
