Un lugar muy acogedor, me encantó el servicio de Isa 10/10.

Pagué $95 por mi manicura el 8 de octubre. Tuve que regresar al día siguiente para reparar una uña; el día 12 otra comenzó a dañarse y el día 15 ya tenía más problemas. Considero que el precio es elevado para un resultado que no duró ni una semana. También considero importante que todos los cargos se expliquen claramente antes de comenzar el servicio porque me cobraron por cosas que no hicieron. Conclusión, llame y me dijeron que hablarían con la dueña para ver qué se podía hacer, y aún estoy esperando la llamada.

I've been a client here since July, and my Russian pedicure on September 20th with Isa was the most painful one I've ever had. While Isa worked on my cuticles with the drill bit, it felt like burning. I said "ow" multiple times and told her I felt pain in specific spots, and my body was visibly tense. She never stopped, checked in, or lowered the pressure, and she kept going over the same spots. I told her I had never been in this much pain getting a pedicure in my life. She said she was just doing what I asked, that this is what a Russian pedicure is, and that my skin was too sensitive and not made for Russian pedicures. She said this only after she had finished my cuticles. If she saw that my skin was sensitive, why use that much pressure and force with the drill bit? Then, before filing my calluses, she told me in Spanish: "Entonces, si yo te lo hago igual, como te lo estaba haciendo, entonces tú no vas a poder salir aquí caminando." (If I do it the same way I was doing it, you won't be able to walk out of here.) The way she said it was rude, and it came across to me as a threat. I was scared, because she was holding a drill bit to my foot and had just ignored me when I said I was in pain. I asked her, please, to go much lighter because I need to walk every day. My toes ached for days afterward and walking was uncomfortable. About 10 days after the appointment, I looked at my feet and they were bruised and cut. I was also cut multiple times at my manicure a few days earlier, and she did the same thing on my hands: after she cut me, she went back into the same spot. She seemed annoyed that I was bleeding, as if it were my skin's fault. When I've cut my own cuticles too deep, I know that comes from my technique, not from my skin. A cut from a cuticle cutter is about how the tool is used, not about the client's skin. When you take pride in your work, you make sure the client is comfortable and leaves happy. When a client says something isn't right, you stop and adjust. You don't get defensive. Isa did not seem to care about any of that. UPDATE: The owner, Natalie called me and was apologetic and respectful, and I appreciate how seriously she took this. Because of how she handled it, I plan to return to the salon, but I will not be returning to Isa for pedicures or manicures. My experiences with the other technicians have been good, and when they've nicked me, they've apologized and adjusted. I originally rated this place one star. I'm raising it because the owner took time out of her day to call me and was sweet, understanding, and sincerely apologetic. If I could rate them separately, the owner would get five stars for customer service, and my experience with Isa would get zero. I also want to correct the salon's reply to my review on Fresha, which says I was told about my sensitive skin from the beginning. That is not what happened. Isa did not say anything about my skin before the service. She only mentioned it after she had finished my cuticles, when I had already expressed that I was in pain multiple times, and she did not stop or check in. If she had told me beforehand, I would have asked her to go lighter or switch to a regular pedicure. I told the owner that I don't think Isa should be doing Russian pedicures or working alone without supervision. I still don't recommend her. If you book with her, please be aware, and if anything happens, speak up right away and talk to the owner as soon as possible.
