I did not choose to do my consultations, I do very much like my provider-“therapist” As of today I would only give 5 out of 5. The women I speak with is open and very professional to my current situation.

It was very easing setting up to see someone and got matched with a therapist quickly, saw me within a week and began weekly sessions. I was making progress. I found out I had a work obligation on a Friday afternoon that was during my following Wednesday 9am appointment, so I needed to cancel. I called Friday but they were not open for the day anymore, so I called Saturday, Sunday, Monday (which was a holiday) trying to cancel. I went to the website to find a way, but every resource on the site says to call. The phone leaves no option for a voicemail. I tried everything on the phone tree to talk to a person but there was no way. I texted the number that sends me appointments reminders. I emailed them. Nothing. I finally got ahold of someone on Tuesday and they said because it’s within 24 hours of my appointment that I’d be charged an ABSURD $125 cancellation fee….$125!!!! My insurance copay’s are $45! That’s almost 3 full sessions. Apparently their policy is two business days to cancel not including weekends and holidays. So I would have had to call by Thursday evening since my appointment was 9am, a full 6 days before my appointment, to meet the policy. I told them I did try to contact multiple times and methods over the past few days but they said that doesn’t matter. I told them I could not miss a work obligation and put my job on the line. I asked to submit for a waiver which was not approved. I think it is absolutely ridiculous for a mental health services provider to have zero night or weekend support not options for flexibility with appointments when life happens. I cancelled my future sessions and will be finding a different provider and company who has realistic policies for its customers that accommodate reasonable requests and for clients having life and obligations that aren’t 2-5 business days ahead of time.
