Reviewers describe the restaurant as an upscale venue serving Turkish and Anatolian cuisine, featuring live jazz performances and a diverse menu of shareable meze, grilled meats, and seafood. Only go to this restaurant if you want to pay stakehouse prices, but be served a laughable kids sized portion of food. Their rice that comes with kabobs is 1/4th the portion that an equivalent persian restaurant would serve. I would at least be happier if that tiny food portion was incredible, but it was only very…
Beautiful restaurant Super busy, reservations are highly recommended The open fire cuisine is very delicious. Lamb chops were excellent and seasoned very well. The fish is also a must try dish! Seafood is fresh. A lot of appetizers to choose from, great for sharing and tasting. Live jazz performances on Friday and…
If you are looking for an extraordinary meal, Meyhouse is an absolute gem. We chose the "Little in the Middle" chef’s tasting menu, and while it isn't cheap, it is worth every single penny. Every dish that hit the table was superb, but a few were truly unforgettable: The Artichoke Appetizer: Delicately prepared and…
An Absolutely Magical Evening! 🎻✨ I attended a classical music evening featuring Fiona on the cello and violin, and I was absolutely blown away! The music was breathtaking, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was beautifully intimate and elegant. It felt like a private concert in such a charming…
Fantastic upscale Turkish place. The food is the highlight here - the atmosphere is nice and casual, the service is great, but the food - it was delicious. Right from the appetizers - each item lip smackingly good, to the main courses - the chicken, lamb, beef were all succulent and tasty. Since we were more than 10…
I was here before twice with my family. This time I was on a business meeting. While I eat everything, my guest was vegetarian so we ordered strictly veggie and shared. I think that veggie items are limited. But the ones there are good (yogurt based). The hummus was not good, and it's portion size was very small. I…

Only go to this restaurant if you want to pay stakehouse prices, but be served a laughable kids sized portion of food. Their rice that comes with kabobs is 1/4th the portion that an equivalent persian restaurant would serve. I would at least be happier if that tiny food portion was incredible, but it was only very mediocre. None of our waiters ever came to check up on us in the middle of our meal.
Beautiful restaurant Super busy, reservations are highly recommended The open fire cuisine is very delicious. Lamb chops were excellent and seasoned very well. The fish is also a must try dish! Seafood is fresh. A lot of appetizers to choose from, great for sharing and tasting. Live jazz performances on Friday and Saturday nights. Too bad that there is time limit for dining since they have to do a second show. But the performance was fun and enjoyed it a lot. Only thing I would say is the beef skewers seemed a bit overcooked and tough to chew. The bread is also excellent, cooked in open fire, but need to charge extra for second servings. Entrees are a bit on the pricey side. Show tix are purchased separately and need to be preordered. The jazz bar dining area is separate from the actual restaurant Bar seating also looked fun and comfortable
If you are looking for an extraordinary meal, Meyhouse is an absolute gem. We chose the "Little in the Middle" chef’s tasting menu, and while it isn't cheap, it is worth every single penny. Every dish that hit the table was superb, but a few were truly unforgettable: The Artichoke Appetizer: Delicately prepared and full of fresh, vibrant flavor. The Octopus: Tender, beautifully charred, and cooked to absolute perfection. The Branzino: Flawlessly crisp on the outside, flaky inside, and rich with savory goodness. To kick off the night, the Meyhouse Vesper cocktail is a must—deliciously smooth and wonderfully potent. What makes the experience complete, though, is the service. The staff are warm, welcoming, and remarkably attentive. We will be back!
An Absolutely Magical Evening! 🎻✨ I attended a classical music evening featuring Fiona on the cello and violin, and I was absolutely blown away! The music was breathtaking, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was beautifully intimate and elegant. It felt like a private concert in such a charming setting. Everything about the evening was wonderful. I truly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to come back for another performance! Highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates beautiful music, excellent service, and a sophisticated atmosphere. ❤️
Meyhouse in Palo Alto is a great choice for a Saturday night if you want good food and live jazz in the same place. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed, and the menu focuses on Turkish and Anatolian dishes, especially shareable meze, seafood, grilled meats, and dishes cooked over fire. The food is excellent for sharing. A nice meal for two can start with a few meze, followed by grilled meat or seafood, plus wine or cocktails. The ingredients taste fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and the service is attentive without feeling too formal. What really makes Meyhouse special is the jazz room. It is small and intimate, so the performance feels very personal compared with a large concert venue. The sound quality is good, and the whole experience feels more like dinner and a show than just going out to eat. Parking in downtown Palo Alto can be a little busy on Saturday night, so it is better to arrive early and use one of the nearby public garages or lots. It is definitely not a cheap night out, but the combination of good food, live music, service, and atmosphere makes it feel worth the price. A very enjoyable place for a Saturday evening, and one I would come back to.
Fantastic upscale Turkish place. The food is the highlight here - the atmosphere is nice and casual, the service is great, but the food - it was delicious. Right from the appetizers - each item lip smackingly good, to the main courses - the chicken, lamb, beef were all succulent and tasty. Since we were more than 10 people we had to pick the pre-fix menu, and it was super. Well, the ice cream was good but I was expecting something turkish for dessert. Otherwise, fantastic dining experience
I was here before twice with my family. This time I was on a business meeting. While I eat everything, my guest was vegetarian so we ordered strictly veggie and shared. I think that veggie items are limited. But the ones there are good (yogurt based). The hummus was not good, and it's portion size was very small. I tried to order a pilsner but they were out. All in all, last few times I was here I did enjoy it more.
Unbelievable food, atmosphere, and cocktails! From the moment we sat down, the vibe was perfect. The bartender, Deniz, is incredible. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his craft. He makes a signature drink called the Island Chai, and it’s absolutely amazing….warm spice, a little sweetness, perfectly balanced. I couldn’t get enough of it. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot with great food, energy and even better drinks!
Beautiful atmosphere, unique and delicious flavors, and good wine. Great for private parties - we had a lovely dinner for 20 in a corner of the restaurant. Another time I went, our party of 4 ordered a ton of appetizers, a few entrees and desserts for ~$115 per person. My favorites were Atom, a simple but full flavored yogurt dish and the vegetarian dumplings. Second time I went with a party of 4 and we ordered a normal amount of food for $60 per person. Atom was still one of our favorites. I love the vegetarian dishes here. Fresh flavors, good acidity. If you're hungry the meat dishes are rich and savory, and slightly on the firmer side. Previously I noted that the service at this restaurant is not at the same tier as the food, due to short staffing and having to flag down staff, but service was greatly improved on my most recent trip with the private party, so I'm bumping up my review from 4 to 5 stars.
Hello Christina, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such thoughtful and detailed feedback. I truly appreciate your kind words about our atmosphere, flavors, and wine program. That said, I’m sincerely sorry that the service did not match the level of the food during either experience. You are absolutely right — hospitality should feel seamless and attentive, regardless of whether it’s a quieter lunch or a busy dinner service. Having to repeatedly ask for drinks, food, or basic table needs is frustrating, and that is not the experience we want our guests to have. Your comments regarding staffing challenges are especially important. This feedback helps us identify where our systems and floor coverage need improvement so we can better support both our guests and our team. If you’re open to it, I would really appreciate the opportunity to learn a bit more — such as the dates or approximate times of your visits — so I can follow up directly and ensure we correct these issues moving forward. Thank you again for your honesty and for giving us another chance. We truly value your support and your feedback. Warm regards,
