Paul and Meg provided great customer service and were honest and upfront with my repair costs and timeframe. I highly recommend supporting your local small business repair shop. Thanks to the whole team at Old Ox. I'm never going back to Goodyear!
Great communication and explanations. Reasonable prices.
Quick and friendly service! I’ve been a satisfied customer of Old Ox for several years now. Their customer service is consistently excellent. Shoutout to Meg for keeping this tradition!
5 stars doesn't feel like enough for Old Ox Tire & Auto. I brought in my 2021 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid for an alignment and left genuinely impressed from start to finish. Shoutout to Paul, who was outstanding. Professional, efficient, and truly went above and beyond. But what really set this place apart was the…
Excellent service and customer service! Replaced wipers.
I was very pleased with the service and reception I received from Old Ox Tire and Auto. I had a number of issues with my car and they were all addressed. They provided me with a comprehensive report detailing the status jf, and services needed for my car.
Lovely staff. And the most transparent service ever! They took photos and explained everything. The issues were catalogued red (necessary), yellow (upcoming/ optional repairs), and green (nothing needed), all with upfront pricing. Could not recommend highly enough!! Fantastic shop.
Great quality and friendly service. An unfortunate accident to my car turned into a positive experience thanks to Meg & team. Lucky to have this auto shop nearby and would definitely recommend! 2026 update: Another car issue and Old Ox stepped up to save the day. Highly recommend for both service quality and overall great experience!
Always a pleasure to get work done here! They are always efficient and quick with a diagnosis. Meg in the office is wonderful to chat with and really helps explain everything so it’s easy to understand and follow up on. They never try to push you to get work done or add anything extra which is such a relief! Quick…
Several times I have gone to Old Ox tire and Auto for service on my vehicle they are great especially Meg she is very professional and she always have a smile on her face which makes you smile
Meg, Paul and her team are so helpful, fair, and kind! Will only go to them in DC now. Even give good local recommendations for where to eat while I waited!
Meg is always the best! So kind and thorough. I love how I get an inspection report with every oil change at Old Ox. The report made me aware of a fluid leak that's now being taken care of for free by my car manufacturer due to it being under warranty. Meg was great at advising me on how to handle this leak. Paul…
I have the utmost confidence when my car is serviced at Ox Auto. The representatives always provide full explanations of everything that needs to be done as well as the things that are not urgent but will need attention in the future. The attention to detail and professionalism is very much appreciated.
My first time coming to Old Ox Tire & Auto - Washington was a wonderful experience! Everyone I interacted with was so kind and professional, and I trusted that my car was in good hands. I loved how mechanics took photos to show what they were recommending for future visits and they caught a leak in early stages. All…
They are always knowledgeable and trustworthy. They are able to get me in when I am having issues.
Great experience. Reasonable prices and nice engaging staff. Support small businesses like this one!
Appreciate the friendly service, speedy appointment, and clear information.
As always, Meg was super responsive and relayed info to and from the mechanics in a super effective and professional way! Shout out to the mechanic who solved a rattling muffler without costing me an arm and a leg!
Great service and responsive. I had a scheduled appointment that was 3 days out but needed to adjust and do it early. I texted to see if it was possible and received an immediate response. Was able to go in within 30 minutes, dropped the car off around 11:30 and picked it up at 4:30pm already services - oil change,…
Shoutout to Meg and team at OOTA! Was referred by a friend and they have proved themselves to be reliable and honest. Made sure this mysterious gas smell in my 2021 Cherokee was nothing serious, and even did a follow up check at no cost. Grateful to have them as a resource! Would recommend to anyone.
The Team was very kind, diligent, professional with the issues had with My vehicle . Management answered all questioned I'd had in reference to the problem and corrective measures. I was kept informed the duration of repairs. I call myself...A Happy Customer. Thanks to All....
Truly amazing service
Replacement of 2 motor mounts and a transmission mount. Spark plug replacement. Good communication, reasonable prices, pretty quick service!
They do great work are very cooperative, friendly, and Josh/Noah/Meg are all very knowledgeable and clear in explaining everything!!!
Been using services for 6 years very pleased
The work was done on time well. They are our trusted local mechanic.
Reliable and transparent when providing services.
Updating my review a year later to say I still take my car here and they still do a great job!
They were knowledgeable & helpful in diagnosing the issue and providing efficient service in repairing my 2006 Honda. I have been able to get an appointment same day or next day here and have consistently paid a very fair price for services.
These guys are great. Always honest, capable, exceedingly communicative, and always willing to do what it takes (and not do what is not necessary). One of my favorite things is the images they send along with their diagnostic tests that show you what it looks like up close to you can make an informed decision…
I've used them for regular maintenance servicing and tires. So far everything has been great. They are very communicative and a pleasure to deal with.
Great team - very polite, professional, and efficient. They give you photographic proof of everything that is broken on the car, and photos of everything they check to show it’s ok. I will definitely be using them in the future.
Easy to schedule, easy to drop off, good service, easy to pay and easy to puck up. And pleasant. That's not always the case. So 5 thumbs up!
Honestly, these guys are great - we used them for our "three year" maintenance appointment, but we have so few miles on our hybrid that they were completely honest about the work we would and would not need. Had them check everything accordingly and we came away totally satisfied. Will absolutely be using them again…
These guys are phenomenal. I so appreciate how quick and communicative they are. Everything is well documented and they always ask before they do anything. I know they won’t suggest anything unless they would do it to their own cars. I couldn’t recommend them more!
Excellent and timely service.
I recently took my Chevy in for repairs. I was skeptical at first because it’s attached to a gas station, BUT the auto shop has helped tremendously! And the staff are so willing to help their customers knowing repairs can be costly. I’m so appreciative for the staff and Cindy! Thank you all.
This service really goes above above and beyond and outshines local competition, even my dealership! The customer service os amazing! The managers customer service is also wholesome. Its my go-to place now.
Very thorough and excellent customer service!
We feel so lucky to have Noah as our Neighbourhood mechanic. He’s able to handle a broad range of maintenance services and fixes- while charging very reasonable rates. Outstanding service. Recommend highly!
I find this team to be open and honest. The team informs you before they do the work and they explain what needs to be done and why it needs to be done. The prices are fair and the owner is a good guy.
Absolute great service!! Jason and his team are extremely professional and knowledgeable. The mechanic was outstanding. Job done perfectly and timely. I will definitely come back for all my future automotive needs.
Old Ox always does a wonderful job on maintaining my car. The team takes the time to explain the issues before taking action.
Great experience, repairs were done quickly and correctly. Would recommend. Josh was responsive and helpful explaining what the problems were.
Great customer service, honest people, and competent work. Everything you want in a mechanic.
My favorite shop for car repair ☺️
I came in to get my brakes replaced and they did a great job. Jason is very responsive over the phone or by texting. They also have a lockbox and online payment option if you can't make it out of work early! Will come back in the future
Great local auto shop.
The team at Old Ox does great work and are extremely professional. They communicated well, kept me well informed about what work was necessary, what would be good to watch to maintain my vehicle, and how much it would cost. I didn’t feel pressured to have unnecessary work done (unlike some other places). A great small shop in the Brookland area of DC!
Can't recommend enough. Friendly, great customer service. They made it easy to drop off and pick up my car outside business hours. I received text messages with photos of every inspection point and service performed. The prices were fair, and they didn't try to sell any unnecessary work. I checked their work…
I have now had enough work done at Old Ox that I feel like I can leave a fair review. Overall, very happy with their work, customer service and speed. Prices are very fair. I have used them for a number of jobs, and everything has held up well. They take the time to explain what’s going on, squeeze me in around my…
The service was excellent , the total price was more than fair.
I appreciate the thoroughness with which they execute their work. Within the hour you are sent a complete report of the condition of your car and what they recommend regarding its maintenance. The office representative, Karen, is courteous and kind. It is a very clean auto shop.
Service was A-mazing. And I don’t type that lightly. This is the spa of auto shops. Who else sends you an email reminder of your appointment with the planned services for you to confirm? What other shop would tell you, ‘actually, your vehicle isn’t scheduled for that service for another 2,000 miles’? What other shop…
I was incredibly impressed with this company. Not only did they do a great job, they went above and beyond to try to accommodate a tight turnaround schedule for me. I would definitely recommend using them and will use them again in the future.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Old Ox. Josh and his team were great walking me through all of my repair options and cost. That type of detailed explanation process is typically missing at auto mechanic shops but not so for Old Ox. Would highly recommend!
We dropped in on this station when visiting D.C. and our car gave us the warning: Oil pressure low. Turn of engine now. Josh was so kind. He gave us a ride down the street and worked on our car until 7 p.m. so we could get home that night. He went above and beyond for us, and the car works great. This is only my…
Very helpful and honest. Every effort was made to provide the services that you truly need. No pandering or soliciting, just very professional and helpful.
Josh is very thorough and knowledgeable. They go the extra mile in servicing vehicles. And they have a 2 year warranty!
I went to the dealer and they told me my mazdaspeed6 needed $3k in repairs. It’s a unicorn according to mechanics since it is a turbo. I wanted a second opinion and old ox auto in dc is within walking distance from me. Josh and his mechanic looked over my car. He did confirm I needed a good amount of work (not 3k…
I needed an oil change, and I normally go to K&W Auto in Hyattsville, but with the pandemic, I wanted to go to a place within walking distance of my house so that I wouldn’t have to ride the bus or get into someone’s car. I had this slightly traumatizing Jiffy Lube experience where all I needed and wanted was an oil…
Very good people here. Josh the manager of the shops knows his stuff, they are very communicative and they won’t over-quote you! They saved my car, will recommend 1000 times!
