Projects by Design Construction did an amazing job on our home improvement projects. We hired JD to do home improvements on both our new house and our old house at the same time. He successfully managed both projects with excellent time management skills. He was very knowledgeable and hard working. We would definitely hire him again.

J.D. and his crew listen well, work hard, and clearly communicate the cost and time needed for a project. They repaired/remodeled two bathrooms, and I will call on them in the future.

We hired Projects By Design for our home remodel, and unfortunately, we are extremely disappointed with the quality of the workmanship. We are now a month past completion and are still discovering problems, flaws, and things that need to be corrected or replaced.
John David and Yvonne are both nice people and were easy to work with on a personal level. However, the biggest issue throughout this project was the lack of attention to detail, quality control, and oversight of the subcontractors. It became very clear that the quality of the work being done was not being properly monitored.
Nearly every issue we brought to their attention was met with, “We can fix it,” rather than taking the time to make sure things were done correctly the first time. After experiencing a major tile issue in our shower early in the project, we expected John David to become more involved and present. Unfortunately, his occasional five-minute drop-ins to “check” on the progress were not enough. We ultimately felt like we had to be there ourselves to supervise the work and catch problems as they happened.
For the amount we paid—and particularly the 20% profit charged—we expected a much higher level of oversight, craftsmanship, and quality control. Instead, we are left with work that we now have to address ourselves.
We have a damaged plank that was caused by watermelon juice/rind during the painting process. All of the doors in the house will need to be repainted, and there are additional issues throughout the home that we will have to either repair or pay to have corrected.
A remodel is a major investment, and we expected Projects By Design to stand behind the quality of the work and ensure the job was done correctly from the beginning. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. While we have nothing negative to say about John David and Yvonne personally, the workmanship, attention to detail, subcontractor quality, and overall project oversight fell far short of what we expected.
Price assessment: Overpriced
Services: General construction, Tile work installation

My master bath went from an outdated 1980's mess to a gorgeous and glamorous modern bathroom. From laying flooring, opening up rooms, to mortar washing or German shmearing my fireplace, Projects by Design turned my whole house into my dream home.
