Melanie was great to work with. She answered all our questions and was very easy to work with. She was great with our daughter and made her feel right at ease. My daughter came away feeling confident and ready to continue using all the tools that Melanie taught her. She also took her time teaching my husband and myself so that we could continue supporting our daughter at home. I was so impressed with the amount of work and time she put into making sure my daughter was understanding the material. I am so exited to see what the future holds for my daughter whereas before I was filled dread and uncertainty. I highly recommend Melanie to anyone who is looking for support for their child. It was a great experience and worth every penny!

My son has faced significant challenges in school since he was in preschool. Despite requesting assessments and having him tested annually, I was always told he was boarder line of needing services. As the years went by, it became clear he was struggling more, not less. At his 3rd-grade parent-teacher conference—either in Februar 2023—I again asked for a him to be evaluated. When I hadn’t heard anything over the school year during the summer, I decided to take matters into my own hands and contacted the district office for his test results. My call seemed to trigger a sense of urgency, as I soon received multiple calls from staff eager to assist. Finally, the results revealed he was severely dyslexic. I felt a mix of anger and relief—anger that this had gone unnoticed for so long and relief that he would finally get the help he needed. However, as the school years continued, I noticed that although he was being pulled out for support, the help didn’t specifically target his dyslexia; it mainly focused on reading, missing the mark for his unique learning needs. Determined to find a better solution, I sought external help and found Rio Grande Learning Solutions. To my surprise, the program was run by Melanie Overbay, a former classmate of mine. We arranged an appointment, and while I felt a mix of hope and skepticism about the program, I was open to anything that might help. It was a 10-day program. I wasn't sure how much could be accomplished in such a short time. But, I was definitely proven wrong he has learned more in the past 10 days then in the past 6 years in the Los Lunas Public Schools. I’m filled with amazement at my son’s progress. He has gained essential skills for his academic journey, and his overall demeanor has transformed. He’s become more focused and calm, and it’s inspiring to see how this has positively influenced his football performance. Other parents and coaches have noticed too, asking what I’m doing because they can see how much he has improved in just the last 10 days. I am incredibly grateful to Melanie for her belief in him and for providing a transformative path when I had nearly lost hope. Her support has truly changed his life in profound ways. Melanie, you are truly my hero. Thank you for everything you've done for him. 💗 I am eternally grateful to you!

WOW! We had an absolute incredible experience with Melanie at Rio Grande Learning Solutions. Our son jumped 2 grade levels in reading in a week and passed his private school entrance exam with ease just a few days after completing the Davis ReadingCourse. But most importantly, his confidence is through the roof in all things! We’ve seen better behavior at home, a newfound joy in reading, and even improved baseball skills! We are in awe of the growth we’ve seen in him and how much he WANTS to work harder. We are so pleased with the investment we made in our son’s future. I would recommend Rio Grande Learning solutions to anyone with a struggling child whether this is in academics or home life. It was the best decision we ever made!

When my kiddo said “I can’t read” I felt devastated. After Rio Grande Learning Solutions – kiddo’s teacher reported that my kiddo was “reading aloud in front of class” - I was overwhelmed with tears of joy & pride. My son was recently diagnosed with Dyslexia. He took the Concepts for Life Program and the Dyslexia Correction Program. Just after a couple of days I noticed a huge difference in his behavior and reading. Ms. Melanie is amazing and patient. This was an investment in my son's future.
