After eight years as a Terminix customer and over $8,000 paid to their Indianapolis branch, I canceled my services over their handling of a $197 payment.
I made the payment on September 17. Six weeks and four separate cases later, Terminix still cannot tell me where it was applied. I have provided my credit card statement to two different people in accounting, yet the issue remains unresolved.
I have spent hours on the phone repeatedly explaining the same situation. The representatives have generally been polite, but communication difficulties have made an already frustrating process even harder. I frequently ended calls feeling that the actual billing issue had not been understood, with no clear path toward resolving it.
When I ask to escalate, I am told I cannot speak with a manager. I requested a callback from the Indianapolis branch manager over four weeks ago. Nobody called. Opening another case seems to restart the same loop rather than move anything forward.
My concern goes beyond $197. It is the inability to account for a documented payment, the hours customers must spend chasing answers, and the lack of anyone taking ownership.
Someone in accounting finally appears to be investigating, and I will update this review with the outcome. But returning the money will not erase six weeks of frustration or the failure to respond to a longtime customer.
After eight years, I expected basic accountability and follow-through. This experience has given me neither.
