The Massage Sanctuary at a glance

Google reviewers rate The Massage Sanctuary 4.8 out of 5 based on 149 reviews, frequently praising the clean, quiet environment and the effectiveness of deep tissue, prenatal, and injury-focused therapies. While many clients highlight specific therapists' ability to address tension and improve mobility, recurring complaints note inconsistent service quality and communication gaps between staff members. Additionally, several low-star reviews criticize the pricing structure, citing unexpected time overruns and a perception that the cost does not always align with the perceived value of the treatment.

Nice place and location. I can't speak for the rest of the therapists but I can speak to ISAIAH. First time with him and damn he gives one of the best massages with a very intuitive touch! He worked out issues and also gave total relaxation! Book him for sure....I am definitely going back.

Ben was excellent. My main issue was a stiff neck that made it difficult to turn my head. After the session I had better range of motion. He applied the right amount of pressure for me when working on my back and shoulders. He was exceptional at creating a professional, peaceful, and welcoming environment.

I’ve been to see Momoe multiple times for prenatal and postnatal massages. She is a fantastic massage therapist! She always finds the areas that need more attention. I leave every time with much less pain and feeling more grounded and calm. I am so glad to have found her!

I’ve had a mixed experience at Massage Sanctuary. The first time I went, I wasn’t particularly impressed and didn’t go back for about a year. A friend encouraged me to give it another try and specifically recommended Liz. I’m glad I did because the massages I’ve had with Liz have been excellent. Unfortunately, the quality seems to vary quite a bit depending on the therapist. I went in yesterday specifically because I had a migraine and a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. I was very clear that I needed firm pressure and wanted the massage concentrated in those areas. During the massage, I had to ask again for more pressure and more focus on my neck and shoulders, and the response was, “I can try.” Unfortunately, the massage continued with almost no pressure. Most of the treatment felt like hot stones and lotion application rather than the therapeutic massage I had requested. I do think this can be a very good place, but you really need to know which therapist to book. When Liz wasn’t available and I needed a massage that day, I took a chance with someone else and was disappointed. At $130 for a 60-minute massage, I would expect more consistency and for specific requests about pressure and problem areas to be accommodated.

EDIT: The owner reached out and invited me back for a complimentary massage. I took up the offer and just finished a 60-minute massage with a different masseuse, Marina. Absolutely splendid massage, and I almost fell asleep twice from how relaxing and soothing it was. Thank you for inviting me back. ———————————— I have been here twice. The first visit was a fantastic 60 minute massage that had me feel like I was floating on my way out. The second visit with a different masseuse left me feeling pretty disappointed. I used a gift card I received from my boyfriend for my birthday, and he loaded it up so that I could book one of the more expensive massages. I originally booked a 60-minute cupping massage, but called a few hours before my 3 pm appointment to change it to a 60-minute hot stone massage instead, which was honored. I let the masseuse know before we got started that I was seeking relief in my low back/sacrum area. She had started off with perfect pressure with her hands, but then switched to a much lesser pressure using the side of her forearm and then using light pinching motions. It felt good, but it felt more like a back rub I’d get from my boyfriend instead of a massage. She also kept asking questions to initiate small talk every 15 minutes or so, which made it hard for me to fully relax and made the massage feel shorter. She asked if I could hear the “squelch” of her sandals and kept talking about it. She asked if my feet were ticklish, and kept talking. She then asked if I worked a desk job, then asked if I’m a gamer because of my tense arm muscles. I checked the time when we finished, and it was indeed an hour later and not shorter like I had thought. I presented her with the gift card to pay and then she tried to tell me that it was insufficient for a 90-minute massage of $225, even though I booked a $150 60-minute massage and had called them earlier and stated “60-minute” in my voicemail and return call. I made a point to check my watch in front of her and was about to tell her it was only 4:07 pm, but she realized before I finished my sentence. I was able to pay and tip with the full balance of my gift card as intended. Very off-putting end to what was supposed to be a relaxing belated birthday treat, as it made me wonder if future visits would mean I need to stay alert during a massage to answer questions throughout and to keep track of the time.

Ita (spelling😔?) is newer here and recommended exactly what I needed so confidently. Cupping is underrated for serious tension- I feel great afterwards and very grateful.

I had a bit of a mixed experience here. The space itself was very clean, quiet, and relaxing, and I was warmly greeted at the front desk, which I really appreciated. However, my interaction with my massage therapist, Isaiah, felt off from the start. When he came out, there wasn’t much of a greeting—no smile or introduction—which made the experience feel a bit cold. In the room, he made very little eye contact and asked only a few basic questions, and I didn’t feel fully listened to when I explained what I needed. That said, his technique in certain areas was genuinely good. I especially liked the use of hot towels, which added a nice touch. But overall, the pressure wasn’t as deep as I had requested, and it didn’t fully relieve my pain. I also specifically mentioned wanting work on my wrists and hands, but those areas were skipped entirely. Additionally, I expected some attention to the front of my chest and stomach, which were not included. I came in with high expectations based on the positive reviews, so I left feeling disappointed. For $144, I didn’t feel the service quite matched the price.
