If I could give 6 stars I would. My family has quite a history at this incredible assisted living facility. My mother lived there from around 04 to 09 back when it was still called Westwood Plaza, and more recently my father lived there. When we were talking to the staff regarding my father's intake I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the same employees still worked there and they ALL remembered my mother. This was a huge green flag for me because there can often be big employee turnover in facilities like this. The new(ish) director, Luz, is so unbelievable kind and accommodating. I told her about my mother living there previously and she was delighted that our family was returning for care. She helped us with all of the appropriate paperwork to get my father admitted. The facility is really well kept. There is a lovely outdoor space adjacent to the dining room. There is a lovely little activities room and library. There is also regularly scheduled activities including games, walks around the neighborhood, and outings to restaurants and movies. On several days a week they provide transportation for the residents to medical appointments. There is also an on site beauty salon that offers haircuts and nails. The care staff is kind and gentle. Many facilities like this can often feed rushed, like the staff is just going from one resident to the next, but everyone knew my father by name and was patient and kind with him. A few months after my father was admitted he had a heart attack and spent a month in the hospital and acute rehab. When it became clear that he was not going to make a full recovery I approached Luz about hospice care. They have a trusted hospice that they already do business with. The referral process was easy and EVERYTHING was taken care of, from the delivery of the hospital bed and other medical devices to the regularly scheduled nurse visits that supplemented the care that the facility already provided. It is so important to me that my father was able to spend his final weeks at home in a familiar place receiving comfort care before he passed. Luz and her incredible team made every step effortless. I could not recommend this place more highly. Your loved one deserves to live in a place like this. Thank you Luz, Theresa, Beatrice, Flor, and everyone else. You are actual angels walking this earth.

I MOVED INTO THE PLAZA IN AUGUST OF 23. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE LUZ ROSE ADMINISTRATOR IS SO MEAN, NASTY AND VINDICTIVE. I WOULD NOT MOVE MY MOTHER THERE.
Although my cousin has only been at the facility about 19 days, it's quite apparent the care he receives there is very good. I wanted to THANK Plaza Westwood and their director Luz Rose for helping make my Mother's life so much better than it was. While it's often difficult for people moving into Assisted Living, after going to over 26 different LA places assessing them for my mother, we settled on Plaza Westwood. While I guess no place is perfect, I will say this - We were able to have my mother decorate the way she wanted in a really nice and bright room, where she's settled in and is happier than where she was. The food has been good and better than most places, she says. Also, the staff are SUPER NICE and we love Luz! She's made our lives so much easier and runs a really good place. I think perhaps different people have different expectations and it's not meant to be a 5-star hotel, no place is that's affordable when on a low fixed income. So all that said - we're SO HAPPY we found Plaza West and highly recommend it!

To date, he has had nothing but praise for administrator Luz Rose and her staff; and the care I have witnessed has been excellent as they have done a very good job of ensuring that his daily needs are met in a humane, caring and efficient manner. The level of care he has received far exceeds the care provided by the previous assisted living facility he resided in. The professionalism, responsiveness, attention to his daily needs, and above all, the humanity Ms. Rose and her staff has shown him, has been in a word, exemplary.
My experience with the Plaza at Westwood has been nothing but positive. The Management is attentive and ensures everything runs smoothly, always addressing concerns promptly. The staff is compassionate and truly goes above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and cared for. The food is well balanced and offers great variety and alternative diet choices including vegetarian cuisine. The overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Activities are great. This includes Art, games, exercise, and group walks. Each month there are special events to celebrate holidays. Friday night is live music. There's always somethimg to do. Many thanks to Luz Rose, the Director, and the Staff.

The Plaza at Westwood is one of the best senior living communities my wife and I have seen - and we've seen a LOT. The building is well maintained and the dining room and community areas are lovely and reminiscent of an old Hollywood hotel. The staff are super friendly, kind and (in some cases) extremely patient with the residents. A huge shout out to Luz and Theresa who go above and beyond every day. I can't recommend enough.
I have been at the plaza for four months after spending three years at a different facility across town. My experiences at the other facility were awful from start to finish so I was really ready to make a change for the better and this is better than that. Much better. When I first got to the plaza. My previous experience had left me in a not so great emotional and psychological place. Teresa, and Luz as well as the kitchen did and continue to do everything they can to ease my transition to the plaza. Teresa is always ready and willing to sit and listen to anyone’s complaint or troubles and most of the time it’s not even her job. She listens and helps where she can with a smile in every contact I have had. To date she helped to coordinate a new primary care, physician, a new pharmacy, and assistance with finding other medical care as needed. Somehow, she managed to accomplish this in about 48 hours. Luz has been something of a miracle worker in her dealing with me. I came into the Plaza in pretty bad shape. I was upset, scared, and feeling incredibly vulnerable as one does when coming into this type of a living situation. Luz assisted me every step of the way, hearing me out for all of my complaints and concerns, addressing each and every one of them and often visiting my room to make sure that things are continuing to be ok. When possible Luz visits with all our tables during meal times to chat and check in with every resident. My dining partner tells me that Luz even drove out to Riverside County for her initial intake interview. For me Luz has been wonderful. We have an older crowd here with ages ranging from late 60s up to one gent who celebrated his 104th Birthday here a few weeks back. My experiences with staff here, but for one interaction has been wonderful. Servers, housekeeping, maintenance are all giving and warm people. I don’t yet require a caregiver but several folks here do. Once the resident is situated at their table the caregivers rather than disappearing can be found just outside the dining room discretely keeping an eye on everything and all of us. I have only ever had one negative interaction with a staff member here and they are not on caregiving staff. In my experience the receptionist is incredibly hard to deal with on an ongoing basis. I have dealt with and witnessed loud and intimidating outbursts of anger. I have seen these outbursts, not only directed at me but at others as well. She is literally the only thorn in my side at the plaza. As a vegetarian, I had trouble at my previous facility for the entire three years I was there getting an adequate diet and meal plan. Here at the plaza, Luz working directly with me as well as the kitchen have come up with an incredibly wonderful and varied vegetarian menu. Some of the foods that they have prepared for me have been wonderful and delicious. And if by chance I’m not fond of what is on the menu that night, the kitchen here is always willing to help me out with an omelette or a nice stuffed, baked potato, a large dinner salad, or several other options always available for me at any meal. I don’t get around as much as I used to, but I still like to go out and walk every single day and a few feet off of Westwood Boulevard is some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Los Angeles. I love this area for walking! I know not every place is good for everyone. I can tell you from my heart though, I am happier at the Plaza then I could’ve thought possible in any assisted-living facility, and it is my home.
Went in for a tour and the administrator Luz is great. She's super insightful, very caring and you can truly see her passion in working with elderly. As we were touring a few residents had questions and she didn't hesitate to stop and help them. Definitely a place where I can entrust my mom.
