When we moved across the country, we brought our 10-year-old Mastiff with us. She’s getting older, has arthritis and bad hips, and the home we purchased sits on a pretty steep slope. Every trip up and down the hill was becoming harder on our sweet old girl.
As a temporary solution, I pulled up some brick pavers and laid down a few rolls of half-dead sod from a big box store just to give her a small, level place to do her business. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked—for the moment.
Then I started calling landscaping companies. I reached out to three or four of them, and Wine Country Landscaping was the only company that answered the phone or even called me back.
Our house had been vacant for over a year and needs quite a bit of TLC, so Bryan came out to discuss several landscaping projects. He spent a lot of time walking the property, listening to our ideas, and genuinely getting to know our situation. Before leaving, he said he’d put together a quote within a couple of days.
The very next day, Bryan texted me and said he had some extra sod left over from another project. He asked if he could stop by and replace the dead sod we’d been using for our dog.
I honestly expected him to drop off a few pieces and be on his way.
Instead, Bryan showed up with a helper, removed all of the old sod, carefully prepared the area, and installed beautiful, thick, fresh sod. It looks fantastic. When I offered to pay him, he refused. He simply wanted to make sure our old girl had a soft, level place to take care of her business.
That kind of kindness is rare these days.
If this is how Wine Country Landscaping treats someone before they’ve even been hired for a project, I can only imagine the level of care they provide to their actual customers. Bryan’s generosity, professionalism, and compassion made a lasting impression on our family, and he earned our business before ever sending us a quote.
Thank you, Bryan, for reminding us that there are still genuinely good people out there. We can’t wait to have Wine Country Landscaping transform our yard, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend them to anyone looking for honest, caring, and professional landscapers.
