I would like to provide some important context regarding this emergency yellow jacket service call.
I received a call from the property owner after another pest control company had treated a yellow jacket infestation approximately one week earlier and sealed the exterior entry point with expanding foam while the colony remained active.
I arrived within approximately 30 minutes of receiving the call and explained the dangers of sealing up an active yellow jacket nest to the tenants. During the interior inspection, with the property owner present, we discovered that the yellow jackets were nesting within the ceiling void, buzzing directly overhead, and had nearly broken through the drywall. What appeared to be little more than a thin layer of paint separated the colony from the occupied living space.
Having encountered similar emergencies during nearly 30 years in pest control, I recognized the immediate safety hazard and the urgency of addressing it.
I explained my findings and treatment approach before proceeding at the property owner's request. The treatment was completed without releasing yellow jackets into the living space. I also treated the exterior window area and explained the necessary drywall repairs and nest removal to the handyman, who was present at the property owner's request.
I understand that communication concerns were raised during this visit. However, my immediate priority was addressing a dangerous situation while explaining the necessary treatment and protecting everyone inside the home. I stand behind the professionalism and the treatment I provided.
