I am so thankful I found Ammie Kim Interior Design! We needed to give our 20 year old house a facelift and transition from Craftsman-ish to a more current and cohesive traditional design. Ammie was so responsive to my Yelp inquiry and within 3 weeks, I had a finished PDF presentation at what I thought was a very reasonable and fair design fee. She was not intimidating at all and listened to my desires. After the presentation, as I consulted and planned with my contractor she answered every question I had immediately, and continues to do so as we near the start of the project
She gave me a few suggestions that I decided not to follow… at first. She was not upset but insisted what I wanted was the most important. But I ended up with her recommendations in the end! She was so great in explaining her choices with the design elements (and rules) to back it up. She was very patient with me as I slowly let go of my faux Craftsman house. I am so excited to see the finished product!
I saved so much time compared to my first experience in choosing paint and flooring and finishes. Her paint suggestions were so beautiful and classy. It’s so hard for me to choose paint that I am certain will look rich and beautiful on the wall. After getting some sample paint, I chose all my colors from her suggestions, and I followed her guidelines on wood tones for our flooring. Her tile choice was spot on and coordinated with the paint choice perfectly. I tried to find the same tile at other tile stores and couldn’t get the right tone. When I decided later to replace the tile on our fireplace, I had a tile ordered within 5 days of asking her to help me choose a tile. And she got me a discount!
We are going to be starting our project less than 2 months after I first met with Ammie, mostly due to her helping me pick everything! Don’t hesitate to hire Ammie. You will save so much time and aggravation and money!

For the past couple months, we had the pleasure of working with Ammie Kim. An interior designer who not only excels in her job, but who is an absolute pleasure to work with. Ammie exhibited excellent communication and made the entire process feel seamless. She was upfront with price and the services she would be providing. She’s friendly and adds a personal touch to her service that makes all the difference. Ammie focuses on achieving the style from the reference pictures you provide. We are undergoing a house renovation and she did a great job at helping us decide on everything for a new living room, kitchen, guest bedrooms + bath, & primary bedroom + bath. At the end of the project she gives you an entire presentation with her choices of tile, paint, furniture, fixtures, etc. Ammie provides her first choice and alternative choices as well.
