We take our reputation and integrity very seriously, and we will not allow a misleading review to go unanswered.
First and foremost, let's clarify the facts. You came to our facility with an existing check engine light and an EVAP system issue. At your request, we performed a diagnostic smoke test to help identify a possible EVAP system leak. The $45 charge was for that diagnostic service, NOT for simply "looking at your car," as you falsely stated.
After performing the test, we cleared the EVAP trouble code and explained that the vehicle needed to be driven to allow the emissions readiness monitors to reset. This is a standard procedure, not something we invented to inconvenience you. We also explained that driving the vehicle would help determine whether the EVAP fault returned.
Clearing a check engine light does not automatically make a vehicle eligible to pass a New York State inspection. The vehicle must meet the applicable safety and emissions requirements, including the required emissions monitor readiness.
You were not an established customer of our business. You visited our facility on this occasion after, as we understand it, having already been turned away by other inspection facilities. Unfortunately, you appeared to expect us to approve a vehicle that did not meet the necessary inspection requirements.
We will NEVER compromise New York State inspection regulations simply because someone is unhappy with the outcome. Our responsibility as a licensed inspection facility is to follow the law, protect public safety, and conduct inspections properly.
It is extremely disappointing that you have chosen to personally attack our staff member, Meron, and accuse our business of dishonesty when we performed the diagnostic service you requested and explained the necessary next steps.
We stand behind our work, our employees, and our business practices. We welcome honest feedback, but we strongly reject false accusations and misleading representations of the services we provide.

I’ve been bringing my cars to Andy’s for years, and they’ve always been honest, fair, and trustworthy. Even after Meron took over the shop, the same great service has continued.
As a woman, it can be intimidating taking your car in for repairs, but I’ve never once felt taken advantage of or pressured into unnecessary work. Meron takes the time to explain what’s needed, is upfront about costs, and has always treated me with respect. I find the cost great and over all service the best around.
It’s hard to find a repair shop you can truly trust, and Andy’s has earned my loyalty. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, honest, and quality auto repairs.
Ladies if you need your car repaired, oil change this is the place. They all treat you like a person, they dont take advantage of your car needs and kind hearted men. I promise youll have a great experience.
I never bought any pre owned cars from them but they have an amazing selection of cars. If I needed I know they would be great preowned cars as their service on fixing cars is honest and they get the job done right.
