Barrett Tree Service East

I love using these guys, and we've worked on two urban jobs, South Boston and Cambridge. They are not only excellent at their jobs, but the crew is professional, courteous, and thorough.

We have a very large tree that Barrett has cared for for years (and a much smaller one) and they always do an excellent job. That includes cabling needed several years ago, pruning as needed, and tree health and pest control treatments. Both the arborists and crews that do the work have been awesome to work with –… Read full review

The estimate was made promptly. The work was scheduled within days. The team of workers were skilled. This was the first time I used an arborist since I moved here from Oregon. I am very pleased and would gladly recommend Barrett Tree Service.

We have had Barrett Tree Service East keep our mature trees - some over 80 + year old healthy and trimmed for several years now. Ryan helped us rescue an 80 year old Japanese maple after a dry and extremely varied temperature winter. Barrett has also helped keep our 30 foot yews trimmed back so that their boughs… Read full review

The service was excellent, from Nate's assessment and proposal to Zeke and his team's execution and cleanup. Every interaction was both professional and friendly. While it was not inexpensive, I would recommend them without other qualification and will call them whenever I need further tree work done.

Considerate, efficient, knowledgable personnel. They have kept our trees healthy through some of the toughest seasons. I appreciate that their technicians will try simpler, lower-cost solutions when possible--their experience and know-how give them a lot of flexibility in approaching problems.

Barrett Tree service: Highly professional from introduction on phone to finishing job. The team of staff was precise, affable. trustworthy and helpful. A pleasure to have on site. Unable to address value because condo association hired Barrett when arborist initially came to property to assess and appraise!

The Barrett representative who was giving us an estimate on tree trimming noticed a problem with our hedge and recommended a solution. Both the tree trimmings Barrett has done for us and the hedge treatment have been done carefully and professionally. We're very pleased.

These guys swooped in and did the work seemingly effortlessly! Very quick, knowledgeable, courteous and professional. They had to get their truck with the woodchipper down a narrow Charlestown street and get everything done quickly because they were blocking traffic. They did it like pros! Update 05-31-23 (from ~one year ago): All of the same still applies. Barrett Tree's service and overall care is tremendous. I feel as confident now as I did two (or more) years ago to recommend them to a friend or a client. Original: Barrett Tree is truly tremendous, in every category. Generally positive, but over-pruned some of the trees in my opinion.

Barrett was flexible in rescheduling a prior appointment on short notice from a proactive limb removal to same-day cleanup after the limb fell on its own. They also went above and beyond in removing debris from the limb itself afterward.

Wonderful experience with Barrett Tree Service. We needed to remove two trees that were encroaching on the house foundation, along with tree triming. They gave us an accurate estimate and explanation of what access they would need. Team did the work efficiently and were very friendly, despite the pouring rain that… Read full review

They're a small business, limited manpower, so working with them requires a little patience. Sometimes they show up early, sometimes late, sometimes they'll need to reschedule. Barrett Tree Service are very good tree care specialists- we have several trees that provide an important screen from a busy street and they are doing a great job insuring they stay healthy-

The crew and other staff were all terrific and professional. Contacted me in advance, came at the planned time, answered a couple of my anxious questions and did a fine, fast job. It was also surprisingly quiet, since many small-diameter branches were taken off with hand saws rather than some roaring machine.

Barrett Tree Service is the best. Knowledgeable, responsive and reasonable. They're great both for long-time planning, and when you've got a tree down in your driveway. (We have several old trees on our property and have used them for both.) I never get the sense that they're trying to oversell me on services, and… Read full review
