I brought my 2015 Chevy Silverado to Brian and Paul at Capitol Transmission and had them diagnose the problem I was having. Brian called explained exactly what was the problem and gave me several options how they could go about repairing my truck. I had them do a complete rebuild of my transmission, I was given a…
Paul talked me through all of my options before doing any work. He was incredibly professional and honest. Excellent customer service and fair pricing. Highly recommend!
I would highly recommend this place if you want honest and reasonable prices I had back brakes and rotors replaced , battery post replaced and transmission looked at.
**Highly recommend!** I had a great experience with Paul and the team. They did excellent work on my car and paid close attention to every detail. I highly recommend Paul and Staff at Capitol Transmission! They did an excellent job repairing the transmission in my car, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a great experience with Capitol Transmission & Auto Care! My transmission went on my Dodge Caravan, and from the beginning they were so nice, helpful, and easy to work with. They were great. Very upfront about cost and time frame (which was quick for how much work had to be done) . Very pleasant every time they called and in person. Would definitely go back !!
Excellent service and great experience.
I brought my jeep in for maintenance. The service was friendly and polite. They kept me informed throughout the service. The price was quite reasonable.
We needed a new transmission and were referred to Capital by Gunn’s in Wethersfield. After a couple months driving the car is running smoothly. Staff were helpful and answered all of our questions. Definitely recommend Capital.
Excellent personable service.
I went in for a transmission fluid flush + new oil . My car started acting up bad ly when I got my car checked out it had very little transmission fluid . They never added any transmission fluid I highly recommend everyone to not go to this place !
I found Capitol to be knowledgeable, fast, friendly, and honest. That is a hard combination to beat.
Capitol Transmission exceeded every expectation. They were honest, trustworthy, and went above and beyond to repair my wife’s vehicle with exceptional professionalism and care. It’s hard to find a shop that treats customers with this level of integrity. I can’t thank the team enough for making what could have been a…
I can’t recommend this shop enough! They’ve done several repairs on my car, including replacing my transmission, and every experience has been excellent. Their prices are hard to beat, and they’re honest, reliable, and truly care about their customers. They’ve also gone out of their way to fit my car into their…

Last year these guys replaced the transmission in my Subaru Outback for several thousand less than the dealership quoted me for (and provided a generous warranty to boot). The wait time was also a few days less than the dealership originally stated as well! The guys at Capitol Transmission do good work and stand by…
These guys are great. I was concerned about my transmission and took it to them to check out. They took it for two test rides, checked the codes, put it up on the lift. They were honest and said they found nothing. They easily could have told me anything. I wouldnt know. On top of all that, they didnt even charge…
Cannot recommend Capital Transmission & Auto Care enough — especially Brian! As a girl, going to a mechanic can sometimes feel like entering a pop quiz you didn’t study for where everyone speaks fluent ‘car noises,’ but Brian made the whole experience so comfortable and stress-free. He was extremely kind, efficient,…
This family owned and operated shop came highly recommended to me and I can see why! Paul,Brian and Paul Sr go above and beyond in service, communication, and workmanship. Thanks for getting us up and running guys!
New to area and did not know anyone. Great to find a honest, ethical and straightforward repair shop. Car repairs always are disappointing, but the whole team was terrific. They stand behind their work with a strong warranty. 100% recommend the shop.
Had my transmission rebuilt here, very nice people to talk to and handled my issues with haste. They also hooked me up and fixed a couple other issues I had while the transmission was out to prevent any other problems. These guys have a great warranty on their work!!!
This place is great! Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Do yourself a favor and start here if you have issues with your vehicle (or at least call them for a second opinion). You won't be disappointed.
Best place to service any vehicle! Amazing staff great atmosphere treats everyone like family quality workmanship great prices warranty as well Highly recommended personally by me!
For many years I heard this was the place to go for transmission problems, and recently I found out why. Brian and Paul towed my car from my home to their shop, replaced the transmission for a great price, with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty, that they will stand behind. They are good guys, great service, very fair…
Best transmission shop I’ve ever been to. They were honest, efficient & very informative. There’s a reason why they have such high ratings.
I was driving my car and when I went to park, the gear wouldn’t shift into park. I drove my car home but had to put it in neutral to turn off my car and put the emergency brake on over night. I was referred to Capital Transmission by Midas. I called and was told to bring my car in. Brian called me to tell me he was…
Paul, Brian & the rest of the guys do great work. Highly recommended.
Truly exceptional quality of work, but more importantly the honesty and professionalism stood out to me. Shortly after a transmission rebuild for my SUV, I was experiencing an exhaust leak that I assumed to be unrelated. When Brian at Capital heard from my mechanic that I had brought the vehicle in for the exhaust…
This will probably sound like a fake review but I simply cannot say enough great things about the people at Capitol Transmission. Had some delays and another place was unable to fix my transmission. Called these guys and they were just incredible, friendly, and honest. I just recently moved to the area so not…
Hey guys I was yet another victim of the old bow tie. At 140,000 miles my transmission was starting to fail, and I needed real answers fast. Capital Transmission was one of the first shops to pick up the phone. They asked the right questions, took the time to understand what was going on, and got me scheduled for…
Wow!!! I got stranded in CT with a transmission problem and I was lucky to land at Capital Transmission in Hartford. Brian went above and beyond to diagnose the issue, and they didn’t even charge me for the diagnostic time.I live in VT, but I would seriously consider bringing my car to them again, should a…
I cannot say it enough good things about Capitol Transmission. They went above and beyond to get my car back on the road. I had been to five different shops and nobody could figure out the problem, but Capitol Transmission was able to get it fixed. I’m very grateful for all their hard work!
Nicest guys ever!
I’ve only brought my car here as it’s one of the most trustworthy places I know. Paul takes care of me every single time I come, and they are very upfront and knowledgeable about their services. 10/10 would recommend for any transmission issues!

I’ve had my fair share of experiences with auto shops, but Capitol Transmission and Auto Care stands out for all the right reasons. They’re not just skilled and efficient—they’re genuinely fair, honest, and trustworthy, especially with women. As a female customer, I’ve often felt talked down to or upsold elsewhere,…
Amazing place…amazing grace! A great business has deep roots in great people— on the phone or in person, Brian and Paul augment their technical expertise with respect and good will. Top shelf!
Very great service. They did my diagnostic for free and even suggestes a couple places and things to do to be able to save money. Definitely a place to trust and use. I will definitely be using them again and referring them out. Honesty goes a long way. Thanks for your help.
Love this place. Brian and Paul were thorough and responsive to my numerous questions. Even though I know very little about cars they didn’t make me feel like an idiot, which many car service techs tend to do with a young, inexperienced woman as a customer. They showed me the issues on the car in person and…
Ended up having a blown transmission. Paul and his team got me in quick and we’re able to get me a new transmission installed in only a few business days. They really went above and beyond for me and I will continue to use their services anytime I have troubles. Thank you again for the swift repair and top notch customer service. A+
This outfit is the best. First, my niece came here a couple years ago and she was very happy. I came on the recommendation of another garage, as I thought my transmission was loud and shifting roughly. They checked it and drove my car, and told me everything was fine. No charge. The waiting area is spotless. Capitol Transmission belongs on your A-list.
Brian was extremely helpful when my car broke down a long way from home. He spent the time to talk through the issue with me on the phone, come up with a plan before I arrived, and had us back on the road in no time! He charged me a fair price for excellent service and saved me hundreds on what a dealer wanted to charge.
Bryan was awesome!!! Love his service and more than anything his honesty! I highly recommend this business. Thank you so much for helping us!
Great place to take your car for transmission work. Brought my older Camry in and they were able to fix it without having to do major repairs as other shops would have gone the most expensive way to do so. They were upfront, honest and to top it off I wasn’t even charged for the labor. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring any other cars here if I needed work done!
The team at Capitol Transmission were amazing. When the transmission light on my car turned on another shop wasn't able to see my car for a month. I called Capitol Transmission and they were able to check my car and fix it up within a week of me calling. The team were great at communicating about any fixes my car…
If you think you can't find reliable, honest and trustworthy car service anymore then you have not tried Capitol! I found them through a local service shop because the recommended repairs were more specialized. I know very little about cars and even less about transmissions but Capitol took the time to explain…
I highly recommend Capitol Transmission they did a great job and went above and beyond helping me. After I had two transmission go bad within a year from another company. I should have gone to them first! Very professional! Brian and Paul are great to deal with. I will use them for any transmission issues in the future. Thanks again
I highly recommend Capitol transmission. They were professional, very knowledgeable and affordable.
Thanks for your service
Top-Notch! Their rebuild and reinstallation of the automatic transmission on my 20 year-old Acura couldn't have gone any better. It drives like a new car! Their communication was always immediate. Their "worked needed" explanations were super easy to understand. The warranty and price for services rendered are…
Very professional, very friendly, and accommodating. I needed transportation while my car was being repaired and they provided a loaner car. Work was done to my complete satisfaction
Brian was SO wonderfully helpful. I was traveling to see a friend and had car issues on the drive to CT. Brian got me in early on Saturday morning, the day before Easter, to help and diagnosis the problem. They were super speedy and VERY friendly. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Thank you so very much for taking such good care of me and my car.
Brought my car down for a second opinion, because my dealership told me I needed a new transmission and I didn't belive them. Had my car towed to capitol and were able to look at it within a day, was told all I needed was a new sensor! I would highly recommend this place for anyone , very nice honest and…
I would highly recommend Capotol Transmission & Auto Care. Paul and his team are extremely honest, trustworthy, and efficient. They saved us over $5,600!!! A local Honda dealer told us we needed a new transmission for my son's car and all it needed was a new sensor. I can't THANK them enough for their…
I brought my car in for what appeared to be some serious transmission issues. Every shift was extremely laggy, or would completely slip. They called me a few hours later and said they found a shorted wire that was causing it and sent me on my way for no charge. My car hasn’t ran this smooth in as long as i can…
Thank you for fixing my daughter's transmission on her Jeep. The service and turn around was excellent.
Outstanding service!!! 👍Explained in detail everything that needed to be worked on and no hidden charges. If you’re looking for a great transmission shop, this is the place!
These guys are awesome. My car broke down with transmission problems. I had it towed to their site based on other's recommendations. The identified that the issue is the transmission, but then also took the added step to call a dealer and find out if it was still under warranty. They called to let me know that…

They were able to help me resolve an issue with a transmission warning light and were extremely professional and helpful through out the process. Highly recommend!
I had my 2008 Ford Escape transmission rebuilt by Capitol Transmission in February of 2019. I was very satisfied with the job. Brian and Paul were friendly, professional, and extremely supportive. Their price for the rebuild was the lowest of two other transmissions shops that quoted me. In November of this year, I…
Very honest and solid small business. I highly recommend for anyone who has any car issues.
There are still honest, courteous people in the world. I will be recommending Capitol Transmission to anyone I know for their prompt, down-to-earth, and quality service. I was expecting that my transmission would need to be replaced, but Capitol found a problem that another mechanic missed, and it looks like I won't…
