Our pup loves it here. We have been going for over a year and the 5 star reviews are spot on.
Been taking my doodle here for so long she knows exactly how to cut hair so it makes him look fluffy and beautiful and the service is amazing. Communication top notch. Really cares about each dog. I can’t say enough good things about this groomer and it’s so centrally located right near the Logan Circle area.
Gabbi is not only the perfect pooch pamperer but she is also a doggy angel. My baby has been getting groomed here for many years. Now he is a 14 yr old senior that got a boo boo 🤕 requiring meds that his Mommy needed help with 😒. She went above and beyond patiently helping him get those nasty meds down. With…
If I could give Gabi and the DC Petropolis team a million stars I would! DC Petropolis is seriously amazing and special. My pup Ziggy first came in for 4 socialization sessions to get used to the environment of the grooming salon. This is a very unique policy of Gabi’s but it has been wonderful for Ziggy who now…

Looooove, love, love bringing my micro bernedoodle, Ziggy, to see Gabi and Ashley at Petropolis. She is currently 5 months old and came for 4 sessions of “puppy integration” to get acclimated to the space before having her first grooming appointment to ensure she was comfortable in the space, with the tools, and…

If I could give Gabi and the DC Petropolis team a million stars I would! DC Petropolis is seriously amazing and special. My pup Ziggy first came in for 4 socialization sessions to get used to the environment of the grooming salon. This is a very unique policy of Gabi’s but it has been wonderful for Ziggy who now feels comfortable and even excited going to the groomer’s. Gabi made me and Ziggy feel so comfortable and welcome from our very first meeting. I trust her completely with my pup because I know she and her team genuinely care for and love all of their clients. Beyond going the extra mile to make the grooming experience a positive one, they are also fantastically skilled. Ziggy always leaves the salon looking and smelling amazing. I cannot recommend DC Petropolis more highly. Thank you, Gabi and team!
Oh my gosh, do I love Gabi, her practice, and her philosophy on the ultimate dog grooming relationship. She puts in time & effort in order to meet and form a solid dynamic with each prospective dog to ensure the temperament of each doggy client is sociable, calm, and happy. Having each prospective doggy client spend 2-3 hours with her and other dogs in the grooming studio a few times before accepting a grooming appointment is brilliant. This ensures your pup will be fully comfortable and even excited for their grooming appointments. You can also feel the delight your dog feels as basically going on a playdate with familiar doggy friends. Rest easy that all dogs allowed in this establishment are joyful and assuredly non-aggressive. This one-of-a-kind establishment has such a professional neighborhood vibe. The dimensions of Gabi’s space is super unique and interesting. The exposed layout of the grooming studio is genius. You can check on your dog through the big wide windows, and you don’t have that awful typical experience of parting visually with your pup. You also never have to worry about what goes on behind the scenes at the groomer (is your dog waiting in a crate for too long, are the other dogs freaking out, etc). Because the entire operation is fully visible before you even walk in the glass door framed in vivid red. Go here, meet Gabi, see for yourself. Everyone involved will have a great & special time.
I highly recommend Gaby and her team for their grooming services, in particular for their puppy grooming methodology. Gaby asks clients to bring their puppies to the salon at least 4 times before they get groomed for the first time. This helps the puppy get familiar with the process and feel less scared of the tools, loud noises, etc. This process was extremely effective with my 12-week old puppy. The first day, he was anxious and overwhelmed with everything, but by the fourth day, he was very excited when I dropped him off. As a result, his first grooming was super smooth and a happy experience for him. I highly recommend you follow this process with your new puppy, if feasible.
Looooove, love, love bringing my micro bernedoodle, Ziggy, to see Gabi and Ashley at Petropolis. She is currently 5 months old and came for 4 sessions of “puppy integration” to get acclimated to the space before having her first grooming appointment to ensure she was comfortable in the space, with the tools, and with the groomers. I felt at ease knowing that she was well cared for and able to enjoy playing with the other dogs in the shop that day instead of sitting alone in a crate all day. Gabi is so lovely to work with and genuinely cares about the happiness of your pup; it made the entire experience feel more like leaving Ziggy with a friend to hang out for the day who happens to be an amazing groomer! I can’t wait to come back for her next appointment and I know she can’t either.
An exceptionally well run operation by Gabi and her crew! We loved it! But more importantly, our baby dog loved it!
Gabi and the DC Petropolis team are absolutely amazing! Not only does our Bernedoodle puppy look adorable after her grooming sessions, she also LOVES spending time and hanging out with the other dogs in the shop. Gabi and team ensure all dogs are as comfortable as possible in the environment and make a typically challenging experience joyful for the puppies. She also has given us great tips to prevent matting between visits. Highly highly recommend DC Petropolis for your pet grooming needs!
I wanted to thank Gabi and the DC Petropolis team for an amazing 3 years of 1st class grooming for our golden doodle, Drake. If you’re in the DC area and are looking for grooming services, rest assured, you’re in good hands with her and the team!
