Friendly Tree Service is the only Tree service I have used in the past and the future. Keep up the great work.
Very professional, carefully working, cleaning up. Great job
Great service from beginning to end. The bushes/trees are delivered in excellent condition and are healthy and huge years later.
Ray and his crew dod an outstanding job removing 9 trees and trimming the huge pines which surround my property. They easily and skillfully took down the trees, the largest being a 35 foot elm and the smallest being a 20;foot weeping cherry. They did it in one day from 930 am to 615 pm. Also of note, I had other…
Great communication and work by the team.
Team and owners were great. Very professional and spectacular on tree removal and pristine trimming.
Friendly Tree was the 3rd. tree company I called, and they actually answered the phone! Nathan was very nice and helpful. I was able to schedule my service appointment rather quickly after I accepted the estimate. They came on a Saturday afternoon and was done in about 2 hours. Cleanup of the back yard was great;…
John Lang and Friendly tree were fantastic job in two recent large commercial projects. Professional communicated and completed the project on time as promised. I will recommend them to others.
Contacted Friendly Tree Service to have trees surrounding the house pruned & shaped before upcoming winter season. The arborist came next day & quoted an affordable price. An appointment was scheduled to do the job. The workers arrived early, were respectful, confirmed the work to be performed and cleaned up…
fabulous! on time. efficient. very pleased.
A crew of about five people arrived with four huge trucks. They worked seamlessly as a team, completing the job quickly, carefully, and efficiently. They were also extremely neat and clean, leaving everything in great condition.
From John coming by to assess our needs and submit an estimate to the foreman, Hakeem, and his crew doing a phenomenal job I highly recommend Friendly Tree Experts!! They were personable, but also very professional, and did a great job from start to finish!!
Great crew, went above and beyond and we can’t recommend highly enough!
I have used Friendly Tree for years. After some initial hiccups, I now enjoy superb prompt service, efficient cleanup and dependable advice. I'd never use anyone else!
Came on time, completed job in a very timely manner. Complete cleanup after. There was some confusion regarding obtaining the town permit, but it was quickly resolved.
The work was done quickly and neatly. Great job. Everything from this company was great. From the initial schedule, to the person assessing the job, to the the staff cutting the branches, all were professional. Highly recommended
Excellent customer service, scheduling and cleanup. Start to finish, multiple times had a super positive experience with everyone we interacted with. Trees are well cared for and plantings are thriving. Thanks Friendly Tree!
The Friendly Tree crew chief and team were outstanding. Our project was limited to a cutback of forward growth to property line and Friendly Tree hit a proverbial "Home Run". Thank you Friendly Tree.
Friendly Tree never disappoints
Very satisfied! The work was well organized. The foreman reviewed the job ahead of time and then made sure we were satisfied at the end. These guys work very hard, came on time, did exactly what we agreed on, understood our concerns, and cleaned up well. It was well done at a reasonable price. I couldn't ask for more from a contractor.
The crew was efficient and All of the work that was done was cleaned up and made as if they were never here. All of the trees were beautifully fixed.
John Lang with Friendly Tree Experts has provided professional and reliable tree service to my property for over 20 years. I often see the Friendly red trucks and equipment in West Orange. The Friendly Tree technical teams are well equipped for efficient operation while maintaining their traditional standards of…
Very Professional work. Highly recommend!
The crew from Friendly Tree was very professional, did great work, and got the job completed quickly but safely.
They were prompt, professional, and very competent! This is the second or third time I have used them and I would most definitely use them again! I can’t recommend them highly enough!
We had storm damage and John showed up within an hour of calling to assess the damage. Turned around a proposal within 30 mins that was very reasonable and understood the needs around insurance as well. The Friendly team showed up the next day to clear all the damage and compete all the agreed work. The whole team…
Professional, quick, thorough, quality service
They are the best. Knowledgeable about trees, not just how to chop them down. Professional and a fair price. Once I found Friendly I stopped shopping around and just call them now.
I couldn’t be happier about the job that the three man crew did on my old tree. They were very professional, and they took suggestions from me willingly about what I wanted cut down and the branches that I wanted left so that I would have enough shade for my perennial garden underneath the tree. The tree looks great…
Staff of Friendly Tree Experts did an outstanding job in trimming the bushes and tree on my property. They were competent, professional and courteous.
Second time using Friendly Tree and I would recommend to anyone who needs tree work done! They were able to come quickly, were on time, incredibly managed my one way street and narrow driveway, branches were removed professionally and the staff was very personable.
Be cautious if warranty service is important to you. My tree died during the warranty period. John, owner of Friendly Tree, confirmed that it qualified for replacement and agreed to replace it. However, months later, the replacement has still not been scheduled, and my messages have gone unanswered. A warranty…
Only company I use. Always professional and do a great job. They never disappoint.
The team at Friendly Tree's are 100% the best of all the rest when it comes to tree and shrub clean up, I've been dealing with them for over 20 years, never had one issue ... the best period.
Excellent care taken to the whole job. The whole crew was great. A very special thanks to the forman Hakeem. He made sure everything was done to our satisfaction and we were happy. I would definitely highly recommend them.
Professional, reliable, thorough and so nice! Highly recommend and will definitely be using them again for much larger tree pruning in the near future
This was the second time I had Friendly Tree to my home. They trimmed a giant Pin Oak and Sycamore. The crew was on time, meticulous, and thorough. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a Tree Service Company.
We recently purchased a new home in Montclair and wanted to trim and clean up our trees and large front beds. Friendly Trees estimate was very fair. The scheduling of the work was very efficient. The team came on time and did an amazing job. We have used them at our prior home and strongly recommended for great tree service.
I've been using Friendly Tree for over 20 years and I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them.
Extremely competent prompt and courteous and very fairly priced
Tree grooming - large oak, 2 maples and a cherry tree. Great experience, from our visit from John the arborist to the fantastic team that clearly took pride in doing an impeccable job. Process was simple, effortless and affordable.
Sadly, I needed to have a big ol’ ash tree brought down. But also, I wanted to have a new tree planted nearby in its place. Wow, Friendly Tree was absolutely the right choice to do this. Their crew was not only proficient in bringing down that poor ash tree, but the way they prepared the area for planting my new…
I called North Jersey Tree Service to have downed branches and a large maple tree that needed cleanup and a trimming. The staff was super professional, had a representative that came immediately to inspect and give me different options with quotes. They fit me in their schedule, came on time, did an outstanding…
On time. Great crew. Great job. Very satisfied.
I wanted to hire an *arborist* that was fimiliar With the proper trimming and shaping of 17 year old Crimson Queen Japanese maple as well as a Japanese Bloodgood maple. What was provided was a laborer who spent a few minutes with basic trimming the trees. This is something I could have done myself. Over the past…
I had an excellent experience today with this company. They removed a tree and trimmed another. The team was careful and respectful. 100% recommend.
A lousy experience overall. Very poor communication with client and between management and crews. Had to come twice and still did an inadequate job for the price. Crew boss snide and dismissive. Ugh.
Despite great online reviews and a good initial experience, we will not be using or recommending Friendly Tree to anyone. We had them come out in April 2025 to diagnose the health of a few large trees and one smaller tree on our property. They recommended pruning the larger trees and replacing the smaller one and…
These guys are fantastic!! Did very good work trimming our trees. Were able to get up very high and really did quality work. Super cleanup effort afterwards. HiGHLY recommended
Highly recommend. On time, professional and efficient. Job well done.
The workers and the work was very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.
Expert service Efficiently done
Great all around. Clear communication, safety top priority and efficient.
Excellent work, and just like the name of the company, VERY Friendly! Did a great job clearing out a few trees, trimming and stump grinding. Team was great!
I’ve used Friendly Tree several times and have always been pleased with their service. Most recently, John came by to look at these real Norway spruce I was concerned about and walk me through his diagnosis. As always, he was clear and specific in his explanation, which distinguishes Friendly Tree from many other…
I recently hired New Jersey Tree Professional , and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The team arrived on time, walked me through the plan, and made sure I understood every step before beginning the work. They handled the job with real professionalism from safely removing large branches to cleaning…

Great job, thank you!
Friendly Tree Service were awesome to deal with. John came on time to our appointment to discuss what needed to be done. When we scheduled the service, the workers that came to complete the job were very courteous, and professional. They cleaned up all of the debris. I would recommend them and call them again if need be. Joyce
We’ve used friendly tree a few times for various tree maintenance needs around our property, but recently we had them come and remove an old dead tree, as well as trim up a big multistem birch that was growing over our house and our neighbors driveway. They also sourced and planted a new tree for us to replace the…

Very happy with service, clean up was absolutely amazing! Natasha on the phone was very professional
Very nice and professional crew. Did a very good job, and cleaned up perfectly after the service.
Responded promptly to estimate request and followup. Work was done in a reasonably timely and professional manner.
I have a relationship with the owner (John) since August of 2004. - moved to the Oranges from Chicago / John planted my Boxwoods / still here. Pruned my trees occasionally. With the weather getting more extreme yearly I decided to prunes all the trees in my yard for safety reasons. John of - Friendly Trees…
TLDR: I had a disappointing experience with Friendly Tree and would not give them my business again. Friendly Tree had me on their schedule for Friday 9/5 from 2-4pm. I arranged my schedule to be home and pay when the work was completed. At 3:30, nobody had showed up or called with an ETA. I called the office, and…
Friendly tree service did work on my neighbors property and let branches fall on my garage causing holes. I sued them in court for the damages and they are still refusing to pay a court order.
We thank your crew for doing a job well done to remove the broken branches and damage tree trunk. We will definitely contact your company in the near future. Thanks again
I cannot express how great the service was from the initial quote thru the cutting and clean up!
Professional workers, that are concerned with customer request.
I am so well satisfy, job well done! thank you again John & Eric and Friendly Tree Service staff. I will highly recommend your services to everyone that I'm in contact with. TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!!
Friendly tree was super knowledgeable and helpful in navigating a delicate neighbor situation. They recommended appropriate trees for our property line and quickly replaced one that didn’t make it after a few hot months. Would use again.
I've used this service for my apartment building for the last few years. They have always been a pleasure to work with. Safety oriented, professional, knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend them.
Always prompt when returning call and this company always checks after the job is finished to ensure you are satisfied. Have used Friendly Tree services for many years, and have always have been more than satisfied with their work. You won't ever be disappointed. Great service, great employees.
They arrived timely, we discussed what they would do and they cleaned up everything. A pleasure to work with.
Good service
The new customer service person that came out after all the work was done was excellent. His demeanor was outstanding. The work itself was well done. Any issues were remedied. Only drawbacks were how they scheduled the work to be done and a few communication issues.
PLEASE READ EMAIL FROM ME TO FRIEND TREE SERVICE: I’m extremely disappointed with your business practices. My neighbor (whom the tree belongs to) paid her portion of the bill. Once I was informed that they were at my property I left work so I could pay the balance. Instead some lady ( not Olivia) told me that…
