Totally missed major issues with sewer and HVAC system don't use them
Tony, Just as we responded on your previous review under Anthony Barklow and your girlfriends review as well. I apologize for any stress these issues may have caused. I explained on the phone the timeline of events and will post here as well. I will also post this on the other review that your girlfriend posted. I hope this brings some clarity. May 19th - We conducted the initial sewer inspection along with your home inspection. It was noted in your report at that time there was damage to several connections and a large blockage the camera could not get past at approx. 62 feet. We recommended that the damaged areas to be repaired, the roots removed and a reinspection to verify all work had been done to your satisfaction. June 10th - Repairs done by Metro Plumbing June 11th - You scheduled with us to come back out and rescope the line to verify repairs had been made. We noted during that inspection that the large blockage had been partially removed and at least the drain was open which allowed our camera to reach the city sewer. We recommended at that time more cleaning was needed and then another inspection to verify the roots were removed. Reinspect the sections of the pipe hidden and not visible at the time of our inspection due to the roots blocking that view. It was our understanding you asked the seller to clean the line again. Bob Hamilton was contracted by the seller to augur the line and did so around 8pm the same night. June 12th - You closed on the house. You did not receive the full report from Bob Hamilton until after you had closed. Their findings appear to be noted damage to the pipe once the roots had been removed and that section of piping made visible. Their bid to fix was 20,000. June 22nd - Anthony Plumbing was contracted to scope the line and give a second opinion. They from what I understand said they could fix for less than 5,000. Given the timeline of events I am not sure how we could have done our job or served you any better regarding the sewer line. I certainly would have recommended to see any reports or findings from Bob Hamilton prior to closing on your new home. At that point you could have delayed closing until the situation could be resolved. This did not occur from my understanding. I also would like to note that in most contracts for sewer line cleaning with an augur or hydro-jetting that damage can occur especially to older piping and there is a risk of causing damage to the piping. I am not sure if this is the case or that they just removed the roots and made the damage visible. Either way there was no way for us to see damage that was hidden at the time of our 2nd scope of the line. I am glad to hear you were able to find a second opinion and is definitely a more affordable option. Having multiple bids is always recommended. As far as the age on the air conditioner not being accurate. I researched how to find the age of a ICP a/c unit in the serial number and the only thing I found was showing the first two numbers being the year of manufacture. However their are numerous brands and labels and they are all different. In this case we should have put unknown if we weren't positive of that date. So for that I do apologize if that has caused any issues. I will definitely be talking to my inspectors and will correct that oversight immediately! Kind Regards, Justin Kurtz, Owner
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY This company left me in financial ruin and robbed me of the joy and excitement of purchasing my first home. They stated that the sewer line needed a simple auger to clear some tree roots when in fact it needed at least 20k repair. They also stated the condenser was manufactured in 2016 when in fact it was manufactured in 2002. I have quotes, video, and reports to back up all of my claims. Do not trust their reviews because these people are the definition of negligence. I am not an expert in any of these trades which is why I trusted them and their recommendations. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Nobody deserves to go through what I am currently dealing with EDIT Your sewer “specialist” did NOT recommend a rescope after the June 11th scope. They told me and my real estate agent that it only needs a simple auger and a rescope was not necessary . I have it writing my real estate agent stating those facts. If you guys would’ve recommended a rescope after the auger, I wouldn’t be in this situation
