Service was excellent! Took some time to finish because of parts backlog and shipping issues. Once he received the parts, he fixed all the issues with my Line 6 Helix, detailed all repairs on the receipt, put old parts in a ziplock bag and presented it to me. My gear works perfect now! No issues.

What an amazing shop, can't thank you enough for your kindness and your work Mike!
We have an old Technics SL-D2 turntable we got used, and only ever worked out of one channel. After searching for years for someone to look at it we got a recommendation to Musical Instruments Service Company.
After setting up a time to stop by over the phone, Mike was kind enough to take a few minutes and diagnose the likely problem in person (loose/bad connection where the RCA cables are soldered inside the case). I also greatly appreciated getting to hear a little bit about the history of the shop and Mike's work.
A few weeks later and the turntable is fixed, with much higher quality RCA cables soldered in, the case lightly modified to fit the new cables. Sound is working great over both channels. The price was extremely affordable and matched the estimate from the first visit. The thorough description of all the work done on the invoice was another example of the time, care, and attention given. Many thanks again Mike!

THANK YOU Graham for the awesome review and very kind words. I hope you will have many more great years of usage with your Technics SL-D2 turntable. It was my pleasure to meet you and have the opportunity to repair the turntable for you. Enjoy those albums each day 😊💿

Thank you Mark for the great review! I truly enjoyed working on your classic MUSIC MAN 115-65 combo amplifier. Amplifiers are no longer built for durability and longevity...not even some of the hand wired boutique amps that cost $2500-4000 each! I was also greatful to be able to recommend a good bass amp for you too! Enjoy playing those classic amps for many years to come! 🎸👏

If Google allowed 10 stars, Mike at Musical Instrument Service Co. would get all 10.
I brought Mike an obscure MIDI foot controller that is notoriously difficult to repair after I managed to turn what should have been a simple LED replacement into a genuine circuit-board disaster. I had ripped copper and an actual piece of the PCB out around one of the LEDs. Several other LEDs stopped working, and I was seriously considering replacing the entire board.
Mike looked at it and basically said, “I can fix that.”
And he absolutely did. He discovered that I had actually broken three separate PCB traces, repaired all three, reseated the LEDs, and handed it back to me working perfectly. Everything works, and the customized piece of equipment I thought I had ruined is completely back from the dead.
What impressed me almost as much as the repair was how incredibly fair Mike was about the cost. I paid him exactly what we had agreed upon—and then, because I was so grateful for what he had done, I gave him every other dollar I had left in my wallet as a tip. I still walked out feeling like I should have given him more.
Musical Instrument Service Co. is the real deal. This is the increasingly rare kind of place where someone genuinely understands electronics, can diagnose a problem down to individual PCB traces, and knows how to repair equipment rather than simply replace parts. Mike was extraordinarily knowledgeable, skilled, honest, fast, and almost unbelievably fair.
The sign outside says they’ve been serving the Mid-South since 1965. After this experience, I understand how a business like this stays around that long.
Mike saved a piece of equipment I thought I had destroyed and did phenomenal work at an extraordinarily fair price. I cannot recommend Mike and Musical Instrument Service Co. highly enough. Five stars isn’t remotely enough.

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Mike's service and advice! I found Mike's shop while looking for a fuse for a Behringer NX3000 power amp. He was recommend by another guitar shop I called. It was Saturday and the shop was closed, so I left a message. He called me right back. He was the only place in town that had it and even though it was Saturday and they were closed, he told me to come on down. He just happened to be in the shop that day catching up on some work. Instead of just selling me the fuse to trouble shoot the dead amp at home, he took the time to open it and test the amp on the spot. The amp wound up being blown and needed more work that just the fuse. Since the amp was under manufacture warranty, he advised me how and where to send it to get it all sorted out. In addition, he also advised that broken or incorrect cables could have caused the issue and told me to bring down my cables so he could test them for free. We found one of the cables was damaged and also advised me to steer away from using Speakon Adaptors because they could become disconnected during a show and cause damage to the amp. He shrink wrapped all the good cables and I decided to buy two new Speakon cables for added durability instead of using the adaptors. He also advised me on what other power amps would be better suited for all the equipment I was using. I text pictures of everything to him and we discussed them ALL. I wound up buying an older QSC RMX2450 power amp through Reverb. This is where I needed his help again. The Amp arrived damaged from shipping. I brought it to Mike and he tested everything, found a few issues and quickly repaired it in 1 day. I submitted the receipt to Reverb and got a credit for the repairs. I highly recommend Mike. He went out of his way on multiple occasions to help me get my son's band "Blackmail" up and jamming again. He even called me to just follow up to see how things were going. I'm glad I found Mike and Musical Instrument Service Company. If I need a new cable, equipment repaired or just advice, he'll be my 1st and only call. Also, his service and repairs are very reasonably priced!

WOW! Thank you Drew for the extremely kind review & words about my services. It was truly a pleasure to meet you & help your Son's band improve their equipment. I was happy that I had the custom made better quality cables in stock for you & able to make the ones you owned better to prevent potential future issues. I'm thankful that I was able to lead you into purchasing a MUCH better & more reliable amp than that crap made Behringer!!! Most of these amp are made overseas & not built like the American made older QSC, PEAVEY, BGW, YAMAHA and others. I appreciate you allowing me to modify the QSC amp for you to increase the cooling & longevity of the amp. If your Son & his friends ever need advise or repairs, please tell them to reach out 🎙🎸🥁🎹

Thank you Michael for allowing us to repair your LINE6 HELIX LT guitar processor. Unfortunately the power supply board you needed was backordered for almost 6 months! Once it arrived in the USA & quickly shipped to us, we were able to fully test it. After initial tests, we decided to replace all of the footswitches too because of heavy past usage. Completed that process & all is well. Thank you again for your business & trusting us to bring it back to life. 🎸
