Edited re: owner response & shortened to fit word limit – I never spoke to Olhausen; they dealt with my parents. I went by to choose the felt, w/ my parents, & that was the only time I had anything to do w/ this until install. All other communication was only between Olhausen & my parents, I was never involved. So their “confusion” over dealing w/ different people is untrue. They only ever spoke to my parents. I never “later contacted” them or contacted them at all. As far as I know, they didn’t even have my phone #. They picked up the table from my parents’ house & delivered it to mine, pretty straightforward. We were never told that one felt was for rec vs tournaments, just the price like she assumed we couldn’t afford the expensive one. When restoring a table, they should’ve inspected it & checked all parts. Being disassembled was irrelevant. If anything, it was easier since they didn’t have to disassemble it to transport it. It also doesn’t excuse the fact that they never checked to ensure they had everything & if it was in acceptable condition. Any responsible restoration would include confirming that everything is accounted for so repairs/replacements could be handled, if needed. The day before install, they called my dad (not me) & did not tell my dad they couldn't see the table because it’s assembled on-site. That would’ve taken 10 seconds to explain. As for the "hostile" comment: I said, “I can't move it once the slate is on, right? So it's not a decision we can rush, & we're paying you, so please don't rush me.” If that was "hostile", it only matched the installer's own rude tone. I’m always polite, but I won’t hesitate to speak up if I’m being treated in a rude, disrespectful, or dismissive way. Re: the apron, it was my parents who noticed it missing & brought it up, not Olhausen. Olhausen also did not offer to replace it. My parents had to ask for it to be replaced & we gladly paid for it. Original - We went to pick felt & were "greeted" by Sharon. She only offered the cheapest option. She also kept saying how expensive the other option was. I asked to see the table to compare the felt color to the wood, & she acted confused & annoyed. My parents called after not hearing anything by the est. completion date. Sharon, again, was confused whether they’d even started on it. My parents were concerned, so went to check on it & saw that a large wood piece was missing from the side. Olhausen was clueless. They did not offer to replace it & only when my parents asked, did they say they could find a piece to replace it with (even though it meant more money for them). Several days later, another girl called my dad. She said they found his info but didn’t know if he was even a customer. She then said they’d come the next day to “work on it” making it sound like the table was at our house, rather than them having it. When my parents asked if they could go see it before delivery (because we were all concerned), she said she wasn’t sure if it was finished; actually there was nothing to see because it had no felt on it & was still in pieces, which is fine if that's actually the normal process, but no one told us that. During install, we found missing/damaged parts - bolts for the legs & a torn leather pocket. My parents had to go retrieve the bolts & we had to install them. For the cost of the process, the apron issue & missing bolts not being noticed are unacceptable. If they had called & told my parents about the torn pocket, we would have replaced all of the pockets (at least another few hundred dollars' worth of business). Also during install, one worker rudely said, “I don't mean to rush you, but you need to decide—we have another job later.” They had been there 20–30 minutes, & we had only discussed placement for 10–15. The appt was scheduled to last 2–2.5 hours. We had also told them ahead of time that we would need to use the frame to decide placement. This has me worried what else was half-assed or missed. Thoroughness & basic customer service are rightfully the bare minimum expected for a paying customer.
We’re sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with our services. We would’ve preferred to address your concerns privately, but since the matter was made public, we’d like to clarify our side of the situation. We typically offer two grades of cloth—standard and tournament grade. The standard is presented first due to the significant price difference unless the customer requests otherwise. During your visit, the owner, Sharon, felt uncomfortable as you repeatedly criticized your family over the cloth color choices. Confusion arose because we were communicating with two individuals with different last names—first your father, then you. All initial information and decisions were relayed through your father. When you later contacted us, we had no record connecting your name or number to the table, so we were unable to provide accurate responses. Our technicians picked up the table already disassembled, with hardware loose in a box. We were under the impression all pieces were accounted for. However, one apron was broken into three parts—only two were provided. We sourced a matching replacement from storage, found the day before delivery, and installed it. While we charged for that cosmetic replacement, we did not charge for the missing, antique hardware, though we should have. Regarding scheduling, Sharon was managing an emergency and asked an employee to confirm delivery. Unfortunately, your contact information still wasn’t recorded, so the staff member did their best with limited details. The name we had didn’t match the one on file, leading to further confusion. We acknowledge the miscommunication, but it was eventually resolved. When you asked to see the table, we were unsure what you expected, as it was in storage and not assembled. We were simply told, “We’ll be there in about an hour,” without any clarification about whether it was viewable. As pool tables are transported in parts and assembled on-site, there was not much to “see” beforehand. On delivery day, our techs arrived just before 11 AM. Your husband was home and sent you photos of the placement. After repositioning the table, he attempted to Facetime you but got no response. The techs were told they had to wait until you arrived to finalize the placement. You arrived at approximately 11:30, but the final decision wasn’t made until 11:45. While this delay might seem minor, it caused unnecessary downtime. A comment was made at the time regarding the delay—intended politely—but you responded with hostility. The tech involved apologizes if it came off as rude. Our techs explained that the table could still be repositioned later by professionals using the proper equipment. Lastly, we regret missing the damage to one of the pockets before installation. The manager suggested temporary solutions until replacements are purchased. The pockets appeared to be original (circa 1970s), and since we didn’t disassemble the table, we didn’t inspect them beforehand. We apologize again that the experience did not meet your expectations and thank you for your business.

Thank you for the great review, it was a pleasure getting your table set up! We hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
One of these reviewers previously said they are only open Wednesday through Sunday. Well, I went there on a late Wednesday afternoon but sign on the door said "By Appointment Only". Frankly I am new to Las Cruces and perhaps I don't understand how local business practices work in the Southern NM. But most of the billiard halls I am used to visiting elsewhere don't require any advance appointment to patronize them.
We are sorry you were not open when you stopped by. The review you are referencing is 13 years old at this point. Our hours are Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to 5pm or by appointment. These hours are clearly painted on our front door. Your review references us a "billiards hall." We are a pool table retail store that shares a building with a pool hall. Their hours are also posted next to the front door. Sorry for any confusion and we hope you enjoy the rest of your time here in the beautiful South-West.
