I have an old finicky car that I will only take to Tenleytown Automotive. I love the professional, common sense approach, good advice, the lack of hard sell on unnecessary repairs, the reasonable price and friendly service.
Great experience with Tenleytown. Mike offered clear communication on the inspection, timing, work required, and pricing. I had previously taken the vehicle to a dealership who quoted me over 2x the cost. Beyond the price, the communication I received from Tenleytown throughout the service and commitment to…
I was able to schedule an appointment online and the follow up communication was impressive. Mike took the time to explain the work needed on the brakes and provided an estimate. We hit a snag with the promised completion time and Mike responded quickly, apologized and delivered by the original time. I highly…
Great team, great service. Very thorough, direct and clear about what repairs were needed now and what could wait. I love having a neighborhood repair shop!
An oil change turned into Mike alerting me of a number of improvements my rather old car needed. He squeezed me in to his busy schedule to fix the most urgent of the issues because I was shortly leaving on a long drive. He explained, answered questions, and provided pictures for all recommended changes. He also gave…
My car was having some serious issues and I couldn't find the root cause of it, and so I came in to Tenleytown Automotive to do a checkup and find out what the issues were. I felt like the mechanics were being honest and very understanding of what I could pay. I needed to leave some issues with the car unfixed for…
I’m a longtime Tenleytown Automotive customer and am always pleased with the workmanship and Mike’s clear communication about needed services.
Have been in DC for about one week so far on a short-term work assignment, and a few days into my arrival, my car started making a concerning noise. Mike and the team at Tenleytown went out of their way to help diagnose the noise and also identify another critical safety issue that I previously had no idea about.…
Tenleytown Automotive was super responsive and easy to deal with, especially in that I was trying to get service quickly before a trip. They were great to accomodate.
Very friendly and professional. Took time to clearly explain what work needed to be done and did it in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend taking your car here
I had a great experience with Mike at Tenleytown Automotive. He was straightforward and honest about the repairs I needed and why, explaining each part in an easy-to-follow way, and his whole team was friendly and professional. I will definitely be returning in the future - thankful to have a DC mechanic I trust!
Mike went above and beyond to help me with multiple issues my car had. He is extremely knowledgeable and informative, respectful (not pushy), and went out of his way to help me. I will be coming back for any future needs!
Brought my 20 year old car to Tenleytown Automotive, they did a great job recommending work that should be done. I will continue to bring my cars here, knowledgeable and honest.
Professional, knowledgeable, and fast, quality service. I came in for an emergency oil change. Not only did they fit me into their schedule the next day, but they performed a diagnostic that uncovered a number of "deferred maintenance" issues that needed attention. AND they said they could fix the handle on my…
All the staff were very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They explained all the mechanical issues clearly and made sure I understood everything. The whole process was very organized, and the experience felt smooth and stress-free. Excellent service and excellent professionals overall.
After a vehicle inspection, Mike went point by point through the results so I understood what was critical and what wasn’t. Each service was quoted separately and there was no high-pressure sell to do the work. On timing, they under promised and over delivered.
Favourite place ever. Small town vibe familiarity, amazing bedside manner, incredible at explaining your options, best price for what seems like top tier service. Love them all.
Great experience! Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, professional. I took it in for an oil change and they went over everything with me. Mike called a couple times with updates and walked me through what they found and worked with me on priorities for this appt. vs. what can wait a bit. Excellent value -- better…
Best place I've found for service in the area. Professional, fair, and don't try to sell you anything you don't need. Service was great, quick, and on time for a Jeep Wrangler. Highly recommend!
Identified and solved a problem that both Firestone and Pepboys had not been able to identify.
Come here for every car service. Top notch service and pricing.
I had a great experience with a standard oil change! They found a nail in my tire and were able to order a new tire fast and replace it. They never tried to upcharge me or sell me on extras I didn’t need. Very reasonably priced and honest.
Always efficient and helpful!
This service station helped me with a predicament with my car several years ago, so when I was in another difficulty recently, I called them. They helped me again. I am very happy about that.
I highly recommend these guys. Honest, good work done on time.
Best place in town
I’ve been looking for a neighborhood shop for automotive service. I brought my car in for an oil change and a general assessment — a 2024 used car that I purchased last year. The Tenleytown team made it easy to schedule, emailed me a full report of their assessment, did the work quickly and were professional,…
Great service and reasonable prices. Many Thanks
My mechanic for the past 20 years retired and I was in search of a new auto service center. I was impressed by the reviews from Tenleytown Automotive and decided to try them. My car required general repair and maintenance work. They provided a very detailed outline of their recommended repairs, followed up by a…
I highly recommend this place! They offer truly excellent service. My car needed general maintenance and they provided a detailed report of everything it required. They completed all the necessary repairs in a very short time. Best of all, they were incredibly friendly throughout the whole process and kept me informed every step of the way
I was very impressed with how thorough Phil and his team were when they diagnosed my issue. The multi point inspection was well documented and left no stone unturned. They took the time to explain everything to me and my daughter in a respectful and comprehensive manner. I can easily trust my daughter to use…
Service was fast, transparent and efficient. The staff courteous and accommodating.
I've been using Tenleytown Auto for several years and this week was no different. They did routine service professionally and delivered exactly what was promised. I'll be back!
Take my Audi S5 here for maintenance! I don't have to worry about being ripped off with services I don't need. Thomas is great!
I have been thrilled with the service, friendliness and know-how of this team since moving to Tenleytown last year. They earn my highest level of trust and thanks!
I think these guys are great. They have had ample opportunity to overcharge me and haven’t. I really like their online system seeing and approving work. They’ve always helped me out in a pinch. They’re in a random location but don’t let that worry you! Would recommend.
Wow this place was fantastic! They were super informative, worked quickly, and charged me extremely competitive rates for the work I needed done. Everyone I interacted with was extremely nice and I will 100% go back.
I truly enjoy working with Tenleytown Automotive. They’re honest and work quickly. Their prices are reasonable in comparison to the dealership. They’re my go to repair shop now.
Fast, efficient and excellent service. I was at Tenleytown Automotive to get an oil change. They provided an excellent breakdown of services provided as well as recommended services to keep my vehicle in top running condition. Customer interaction was excellent.
An incredibly competent, professional and service minded staff! Honest brokers who engender a credible and trusted relationship.
I had issues with my car and Tom and Richard managed to get my car in at their Garage first thing then next day. It was taken care of within a couple of hours. I highly recommend this business in Tenley. Efficient, great communication and a very fair price. Try them! You wont be disappointed.
This is the third time I take my Mercedes-Benz C230S to Tenleytown Automotive. Their estimate reports are very detailed and they work fast. I also appreciate their honesty about any future repairs my car may need. I trust their services 100%.
I’ve been going to them for a few years now (both at their old and relatively new place). Each time I get the same great service. Last year I went in for major maintenance and was impressed by the detailed breakdown they provided (especially since they highlighted what was urgent and what could wait). A few days ago…
This shop is great. Their staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I will go back to them for my future needs.
Great service and saved me a lot of money compared to what the dealership wanted to charge me
Very nice people.
Fast & efficient!
Great staff, great service and knowledgeable mechanics. Came in for regular maintenance and found the team was hands-down some customer-focused and great to work with.
Fantastic efficient service, fair prices, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
I work down the street from this place and I have seen them be kind and helpful to so many customers. Today they were kind and helpful to me as I had an automotive emergency. I would recommend these honest mechanics to anyone.
Excellent communication from the moment I scheduled the appointment until it was ready. I like their online system to approve or disapprove repairs needed and exact cost of each repair/maintenance job. Will be back with our other car.
Incredibly helpful and kind group of mechanics here. Got me the tire I needed within a day.
We finally found our car service place. Happy with the service and value.
friendly, helpful, human, on top of being very professional!
Very satisfactory Work finished on time Easy to schedule appointment at MY convenience Was able to stagger repairs over 4 month time frame to suit my monthly budget Staff are friendly and helpful
Took care of all my issues
is great and the work is always expertly done, cost-effective and prompt.
Did good work, were polite, on time, reliable.
Tom and his team were amazing. I usually dread interacting with mechanics, because I feel they’re trying to sell me services I don’t need. Not so with Tom! After a well-documented diagnostic, he walked me through what was actually needed and what could wait. I dripped the car off in the morning, and it was ready to…
Great experience! Easy to make appointment, car finished the same day even though it was more than the oil change I had signed up for. Phil and Tom both helpful and efficient and thorough. I can’t vouch foe the quality as it was just past weekend but all good so far. Seemed about average pricing for whenever my BMW X5 goes into the shop.
