I have an old finicky car that I will only take to Tenleytown Automotive. I love the professional, common sense approach, good advice, the lack of hard sell on unnecessary repairs, the reasonable price and friendly service.
Great local mechanic! Easy to make an appointment and get my questions answered throughout the process. Quality work, fair prices, and a company that understands how to do customer service.
Excellent service by providing a written review of the full status of what's good or needs work in the car. First garage I have been to that has this novel system. Loved the written explanations which detailed essential, optional and mandatory repairs. Repaired my oil pan that had a jammed in bolt. Went in for a…
Tenleytown Auto is my go-to spot whenever I have an issue with one of our vehicles. Great service and communication.
Great team, great service. Very thorough, direct and clear about what repairs were needed now and what could wait. I love having a neighborhood repair shop!
An oil change turned into Mike alerting me of a number of improvements my rather old car needed. He squeezed me in to his busy schedule to fix the most urgent of the issues because I was shortly leaving on a long drive. He explained, answered questions, and provided pictures for all recommended changes. He also gave…
My car was having some serious issues and I couldn't find the root cause of it, and so I came in to Tenleytown Automotive to do a checkup and find out what the issues were. I felt like the mechanics were being honest and very understanding of what I could pay. I needed to leave some issues with the car unfixed for…
Tenleytown Automotive was super responsive and easy to deal with, especially in that I was trying to get service quickly before a trip. They were great to accomodate.
Transparent, helpful and understanding.
I had several things done over the past months for maintenance on my 2004 Lexus GS430. They are always professional and pleasant to deal with. What like is they inspect and provide information on things that need to be done soon, and also about things that may need work in the future, but they do not push you or try to upsell. It’s an honest shop.
Quick service and very communicative and friendly staff! My go-to auto shop
Very helpful, quick, and transparent!
Easy to schedule maintenance and good customer service at a reasonable price.
I had a great experience with Mike at Tenleytown Automotive. He was straightforward and honest about the repairs I needed and why, explaining each part in an easy-to-follow way, and his whole team was friendly and professional. I will definitely be returning in the future - thankful to have a DC mechanic I trust!
Just moved to the area and needed to have some work done on my car. Mike and his team were incredibly communicative throughout the whole process, going over every single finding, how urgent they were, and outlined the cost breakdown super clearly. Had a wonderful experience and will definitely be going back again for all future car needs!
Tenleytown Automotive has been keeping my 2001 Jeep Wangler road worthy for the past 6 years. Each time I take it in for a somewhat complicated repair, I leave excited because I get to drive it a bit longer. Appreciate their professionalism and zeal for the work they do. Great crew!
Mike went above and beyond to help me with multiple issues my car had. He is extremely knowledgeable and informative, respectful (not pushy), and went out of his way to help me. I will be coming back for any future needs!
Professional, knowledgeable, and fast, quality service. I came in for an emergency oil change. Not only did they fit me into their schedule the next day, but they performed a diagnostic that uncovered a number of "deferred maintenance" issues that needed attention. AND they said they could fix the handle on my…
The staff was friendly, but my main issue was never addressed. I brought the car in specifically for an oil‑pressure warning light and mentioned several times that I suspected the oil pressure sensor. Instead of checking that, the shop performed general maintenance and returned the car with the same warning light…
Everyone at Tenleytown Auto is so kind and helpful and they really take the time to thoroughly explain the services and repairs. They’re also so fast with their work and do an awesome job overall. Been going for over a year and have had nothing but exceptional experiences!
All the staff were very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They explained all the mechanical issues clearly and made sure I understood everything. The whole process was very organized, and the experience felt smooth and stress-free. Excellent service and excellent professionals overall.
After a vehicle inspection, Mike went point by point through the results so I understood what was critical and what wasn’t. Each service was quoted separately and there was no high-pressure sell to do the work. On timing, they under promised and over delivered.
They were kind, communicative, and fast. I felt that every potential repair was outlined well and I wasn’t pressured to move forward with anything I wasn’t ready to.
Great experience! Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, professional. I took it in for an oil change and they went over everything with me. Mike called a couple times with updates and walked me through what they found and worked with me on priorities for this appt. vs. what can wait a bit. Excellent value -- better…
I really appreciate the mechanics at Tenelytown Automotive. There is never a girl tax, they are honest about what work needs to be done and how urgent it really is. I had never felt like they were upselling me. They have always taken the time to explain what is wrong and answer my questions, without making me feel dumb. I highly recommend this garage!
Best place I've found for service in the area. Professional, fair, and don't try to sell you anything you don't need. Service was great, quick, and on time for a Jeep Wrangler. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience with a standard oil change! They found a nail in my tire and were able to order a new tire fast and replace it. They never tried to upcharge me or sell me on extras I didn’t need. Very reasonably priced and honest.
Great communication from the team about issues with my vehicle and took care of everything in the same day. Great service.
Moved to DC 2 years ago and have gone to Mike and his team for all my automotive needs. They are very responsive and transparent throughout the entire process. I highly recommend going here.
This service station helped me with a predicament with my car several years ago, so when I was in another difficulty recently, I called them. They helped me again. I am very happy about that.
Welcoming atmosphere with direct, clear and professional communication. My car was taken in per scheduled appointment time. Added bonus is their Digital Vehicle Inspection which alerts you to any findings requiring present or future attention. Overall, excellent customer service.
I highly recommend these guys. Honest, good work done on time.
Easy to book and service was super quick!
Quick turn-around oil change and tire rotation.
The friendliest and most professional place to get your car worked on.
I was looking for a new repair shop, and the team at Tenleytown Automotive did an excellent job. They took their time, listened carefully to all my concerns, and answered each of them thoroughly. They performed a detailed analysis of my car’s condition, and then we sat down to discuss what needed immediate attention…
My car battery was failing during this cold snap. They replaced it same day without an appointment for a reasonable price.
Very prompt and courteous service. It’s the first time I’ve tried to have my oil changed at anything other than my original Mercedes-Benz, dealer. They did a wonderful job certified the maintenance and the staff across the board is always courteous if I need my air in my tires filled I go in they don’t charge me…
Best place in town
I’ve been looking for a neighborhood shop for automotive service. I brought my car in for an oil change and a general assessment — a 2024 used car that I purchased last year. The Tenleytown team made it easy to schedule, emailed me a full report of their assessment, did the work quickly and were professional,…
Great service and reasonable prices. Many Thanks
Very responsive to whatever we need to be done on our automobile. Also very helpful with any questions that we might have. We know the necessary work will be done and completed as timely as possible. We consider the group at Tenleytown Automotive part of our support system. Gerry
I highly recommend this place! They offer truly excellent service. My car needed general maintenance and they provided a detailed report of everything it required. They completed all the necessary repairs in a very short time. Best of all, they were incredibly friendly throughout the whole process and kept me informed every step of the way
Very thorough. Constant updates. Fair pricing. Will use again.
Expert, professional, reliable, courteous, prompt. They took the time to give me a detailed explanation of my car’s condition and approaches to maintenance and repairs, for this visit and moving forward. Like a grad-school course on automotive strategy. A+
I scheduled an oil change online. It ended up being the most expensive oil change I’ve ever had. The amount I paid was $133. I was also a bit disappointed that it took over an hour for the oil change. I believe they did good work and I liked the online report, but I would have been much more satisfied if the price was more reasonable.
I was very impressed with how thorough Phil and his team were when they diagnosed my issue. The multi point inspection was well documented and left no stone unturned. They took the time to explain everything to me and my daughter in a respectful and comprehensive manner. I can easily trust my daughter to use…
Superior customer service. Great communication and work. Convenience - a comprehensive report with photos to your phone and you can make payment on your phone. Excellent experience!
great guys, honest and the work was top notch! Highly Recommend!
This was a first time visit. Much appreciated on-line reservation. Very thorough maintenance report, with photos . Prompt servicing: in and out same day. Will return.
Friendly staff and mechanics. Expert knowledge of mechanics.. Very pleased with their service. It was timely and well performed. I'm especially pleased with how Mike communicates with me and keeps me informed since I prefer hearing from your station about the car either face to face or by telephone.
Appreciate Richard, the Service Manager, accommodating my time and schedule. In a recent visit to replace a battery, I was able to bring the car up and they took care of me immediately. They take care of their customers. And Thomas, the technician, provided good service with a smile period. Nice group of people.
Take my Audi S5 here for maintenance! I don't have to worry about being ripped off with services I don't need. Thomas is great!
Prompt service with great communication
Great service! Very detailed, kind and easy to use online platform. Would definitely recommend.
I think these guys are great. They have had ample opportunity to overcharge me and haven’t. I really like their online system seeing and approving work. They’ve always helped me out in a pinch. They’re in a random location but don’t let that worry you! Would recommend.
Great team! They make it easy to schedule an appointment and identify what work needs to be done. They worked very fast, and I’ll definitely bring my car back here in the future.
Highly recommend Tenleytown auto. I just bought a car and took it here because they had great reviews. They very quickly identified issues that needed to be fixed and some that were just recommendations. I really liked how I could approve work online in just a few clicks and the work was done in a day.
Fast and friendly service
Quick and efficient service
Honest, transparent, helpful and overall great car service experience. Highly recommend.
I truly enjoy working with Tenleytown Automotive. They’re honest and work quickly. Their prices are reasonable in comparison to the dealership. They’re my go to repair shop now.
Fast, efficient and excellent service. I was at Tenleytown Automotive to get an oil change. They provided an excellent breakdown of services provided as well as recommended services to keep my vehicle in top running condition. Customer interaction was excellent.
Super easy to book an appointment, approve repairs and make payment. The team at Tenleytown automotive was very friendly and I would highly recommend them!
Repair garage is excellent. Quick turnaround and great communication. They tell you what you need to fix right now, and don't push you to fix/replace things that are inessential.
Quick and professional!
Great service and fast. Will go back again.
I continue to be loyal to tenley town auto. They are busy but if you plan ahead, they take care of you and always makes sure that the job is done.
They’re fast and professional. Great oil change service. They also noticed I had a nail in my tire and helped me get that fixed before I had a serious flat problem.
This is the third time I take my Mercedes-Benz C230S to Tenleytown Automotive. Their estimate reports are very detailed and they work fast. I also appreciate their honesty about any future repairs my car may need. I trust their services 100%.
I’ve been going to them for a few years now (both at their old and relatively new place). Each time I get the same great service. Last year I went in for major maintenance and was impressed by the detailed breakdown they provided (especially since they highlighted what was urgent and what could wait). A few days ago…
Tenleytown automotive was courteous, informative and efficient. They evaluate of my car, repaired what was needed, and got it back to me in good working order.
Great Customer Service from everyone!
My second experience with this business was as positive as the first -- professional, knowledable, and friendly. Over the phone appointment process went well, as did checking in our car for service. Particularly helpful was the emailed assessment of the car by the technician -- detailed and graphically easy to…
Great service
Excellent communication from the moment I scheduled the appointment until it was ready. I like their online system to approve or disapprove repairs needed and exact cost of each repair/maintenance job. Will be back with our other car.
Took care of all my issues
Had heard great things from friends in the area, and after my first experience with them (getting my oil changed), I can see why they're so well liked. They were able to work on my car promptly and were quite efficient, communications via text was great, and really appreciated not being told a list of 15 things…
Did good work, were polite, on time, reliable.
Great experience! Easy to make appointment, car finished the same day even though it was more than the oil change I had signed up for. Phil and Tom both helpful and efficient and thorough. I can’t vouch foe the quality as it was just past weekend but all good so far. Seemed about average pricing for whenever my BMW X5 goes into the shop.
Today I had a problem with my tires and asked if someone could help me. They immediately had the mechanic direct me to one of the bays and he took care of everything. All the men working there were friendly and I felt totally rescued from my concerns. Bravo and thanks! Ginny Gray
Great customer service!! Professional and pleasant staff!! Thank you guys for the great work!!
Very helpful, they take appointments and quick! Reasonably priced and didn’t try to push extra services.
I could not say enough amazing things about this shop. They are honest, professional and their actual job is top notch. They are extremely knowledgeable and you always feel comfortable with them. They are not there to break the bank but to really take care of the clients. I don't take my vehicles anywhere else and…
The service was exceptional.
One of my joys is supporting local business. Another is having a well-running car. My car is a beaut, 16 years old and doesn't look it. I prioritize maintenance, and these mechanics are on my side. I really appreciate the care and customer service at Tenleytown Automotive. From the moment I arrived to the retrieval…
Went in at around 1 walked up and before I even stepped up to the door they greeted me. Asked if they had time for an oil change, immediately moved a car out of the garage and told me yes. Got a call later and asked for the ok to do a tire rotation with the price, had my car ready in no time. Definitely recommend,…
I came in to Tenleytown Mechanic about a year ago to get an oil change and diagnose and fix a problem I was having with my car. I moved out of state now but if you're looking for a place around the DC area for a good mechanic; go here! I spoke to Mike when I went in and he was very helpful. The whole team at…
The guys were super nice and helpful. They got me in the very next morning after I called and did what was necessary within an hour. They also looked over the car and made a list of things that should be done soon and showed me why. No sales pressure. Great service!
The service and communication was great!!! I got my car in time, pricing was great, the staff was friendly.
