And cherry on top - and despite all this, did not give me a refund. Incredible waste of time and energy.

This was my first time working with an accountant and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but this was an incredibly frustrating experience. I also strongly suspect that Richard has been getting negative reviews taken down - I noticed several people had similar experiences and left reviews, and Richard responded saying he never worked with them. I'm sure he may attempt to do the same with my review, but I have proof I can provide that my experience is genuine.
I reached out to Richard for assistance with my tax return this year, I chose him based on the good reviews here. Our initial conversation over the phone was pleasant and he assured me he could assist me. Unfortunately my experience went downhill from there - he was very vague in his communications, left typos all over his messages, and required multiple follow-ups via email and text over the course of several weeks to get basic questions answered. I also found multiple issues in my tax return (mind you, I am not a tax expert - these were very basic things that I provided multiple times) and his responses were pretty cold and dismissive. It was like pulling teeth to get these issues fixed and to get questions answered, and most of the time they were not answered satisfactorily. Response times were also all over the place - sometimes he’d respond within minutes, other times he’d take days to get back to me (and only after I followed up again). He didn't end up getting my taxes sorted until the day before/day of the tax filing deadline.
I’ve worked in client-facing roles before, and this is not how you should treat your customers. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your accounting needs.
