I requested a quote from Action Air to replace my hot water heater. The person who came out was both professional and friendly. The price they quoted was considerably less than the other quotes I received. I accepted the quote and they scheduled the work to be completed the next morning.

Previously used years ago and they were great. Used a couple days ago after being bought out by Hope plumbing and a diagnostic yielded a repair which turned into a sales pitch for a whole new unit bc my unit was 12 years old, mind you I live in a condo as well so it’s not like this unit is cooling a mansion and working overtime here. They wanted me to meet with a “comfort specialist” to discuss buying a whole new ac unit ballparked at around 15 grand. The whole vibe felt off from the jump, not like a repair call but like a salesman call. They set me up with lead in questions asking how much my monthly bill is (so they could later tell me I was overpaying on it), how old my unit was (so they could later tell me it was out of date), and stating it may be time to upgrade to the “energy standards of today”
I then talked to a handyman friend of mine who asked his HVAC friend and he said shouldn’t need a new unit already for a place this size. Came out looked at it replaced the motor they said was the problem in about an hour for $300 less. Thank god I have good friends because these big companies buying other big companies just really don’t care about people just their numbers.
