This was my first time at Brakes Plus. From my phone interaction with Bob and the service I received when I arrived , it was a great experience. Lonzo the manager was amazing. Very friendly staffing that work there, but I had an appointment at 11am to just get my brake pads and I sat there for over 4 hours got there at 10:50am didn’t leave until almost 3:30. Finally went up and asked when my car was gonna be done and that whole last hour they were waiting for someone to just test drive my car.

I came here because of the reviews, I don’t know why I didn’t get the same experience. I called and spoke with Alonso on 10/19/26 To get a quote for my front brake pads and rotors. He said he couldn’t give me one and that I should bring the car in instead. I told him that I got a quote from another shop and wanted to be sure they were offering me a fair price. He told me he would match the quote. I told him I would come the next day so we agreed on 3:30 PM 10/20/26, he told me to ask for him when I came. I showed up right on time and was greeted by Bob. I asked to speak with Alonso, Bob told me that he wasn’t able to speak with me because he was busy. I explained to him that he told me to ask for him specifically when I got here, Bob told me he was busy working. I left it alone dropped off my keys and went about my day. I called about 30 minutes later to see if they had a quote for me. They did not yet and that was understandable. I had no problem with that. I received a call back And they told me $950 for all four brake pads in my back rotors. I told them that I would just come and pick up my car because I was quoted a different price by another shop and I was told that only my front brakes needed to be replaced and the front rotors needed to be replaced. I wasn’t comfortable with the fact that one shop told me the front rotors needed to be replaced in the other told me it was the back. They assured me that it was the back rotors that needed to be replaced. When I told him I was originally quoted $425 for the front rotors and pads, He all of a sudden had a coupon for me to use. He also said he would remove the brake fluid flesh, which I never asked for in the first place. Then he told me that instead of the premium pads, he would give me the economy pads. He told me the cost for all four pads and back rotors would be $550. I just think it’s so astonishing how it went down $400 that quickly. When I receive my receipt, it read that I had 140,000 miles on my car, I only have 89,000 miles on my car. I understand that Alonso was busy working. As a manager, don’t tell a customer to ask for you specifically, if you can’t step away from your work for a few minutes. Customer service and professionalism are important to me, safe to say I won’t bring any of my vehicles here for service.

I was told the shop had a change in management and most of the staff altogether. Unfortunately when I had my whole radiator and hoses replaced several weeks ago I wasn’t given the full details on everything that should be replaced, and one part wasn’t replaced. Later, when I thought I was showing up to have new hoses inspected after I was told they would “soften” something broke when they were inspecting it. I have to take their word that it broke due to wear and not the mechanic. No grace or understanding was shown when it comes to the situation and the fact I wasn’t informed this should have been replaced during the time the whole radiator system was replaced.
The overhaul of the shop, changes, and gap in work that was done u see old management shouldn’t be reflected on the customer. Unfortunately after coming here for several years, I will now how to look for another place that is more customer focused.
