I have been a client for over 10 years, and like others, have noticed a marked decline in the recent months. The disorganization, changed policies, and poor customer service were reason enough for me to consider changing practices. However, after witnessing deeply concerning conduct and lack of professionalism from staff I've made the difficult decision to transfer my dog's care elsewhere. On Monday, 10/19, I experienced the following incident, which ultimately resulted in my decision to no longer entrust this practice with my dog's care. While I was at the clinic picking up my dog's prescription, I overheard a male veterinary staff member speaking to dogs and saying, "shut the he** up" and "I'm gonna beat your a**". The front desk receptionist laughed and said, "Oh, those are his pets." I have no way of knowing whether they were actually his personal pets, particularly given that he was in the back area of a veterinary clinic where clients' animals are cared for. But even assuming they were, I don't understand how that makes the behavior appropriate. This is a veterinary clinic where people may be bringing in a beloved pet who is sick, injured, or dying. Clients should not have to overhear a veterinary professional speaking to animals this way and then hear another staff member laugh it off. To be clear, I did not interpret his tone as a serious threat to the dogs, nor did I witness any mistreatment of them. However, as a professional entrusted with the care of other people's animals, I found the language incredibly inappropriate and the receptionist laughing it off did not make it feel more appropriate. Hearing a veterinary professional speak to animals that way, and then having other staff laugh about it, completely eroded my confidence in the professionalism of the practice. I do want to recognize Dr. Bess who has provided excellent care to my dog for many years. My concerns are absolutely not a reflection of her, and I sincerely hope she finds another practice.

Campus Vet Clinic provided exceptional care for my new 13 week yorkie puppy. At each step each employee was professional and very friendly. They answered every question and explained the treatment schedule. My experience was 5 star and I appreciate I have a trusted vet for my new pup.
It pains me to write this review, because campus vet has given adequate care to my dog over the years. My dog was treated at a specialty hospital for kidney disease. A few months ago, very sadly, he died. The specialty hospital notified Campus Vet and, I never heard one word of condolence from them. Even after…

Avoid! Been going here for 10 years. They were recently purchased by a larger corporation and replaced all vet techs and front of house staff. Since then it's been a disaster every visit. They overbook appointment slots. One person knows how to schedule appointments. Every time I'm there I have to triple check what…
Don’t know male vet name. Older gentleman. Terrible. Annual exam was 2 minutes long. After I left, got an email my dog was due for vaccines and heartworm test. Why didn’t they give them at the time I was there? When I called, no explanation and they said I denied heartworm test which I didn’t. Campus vet has…
Took my kitty here when sick. They did free first exam. I got her fluids and painkillers but had to go somewhere cheaper for blood work and antibiotics

So glad to hear you had a good experience, Rebecca. Thank you for trusting Campus Veterinary Clinic to take care of your pet!
so many negative reviews from unfair clients. i heard the staff be so patient and kind to people with perfect expectations. my partner and i have 3 cats and have gone to a few vets in the area. the others had us back time and time again for the same issue(overgrooming? allergies? anxiety?), never being resolved and always costing money. first visit to campus vet and they gave completely new alternative options such as hydrolized food to be able to rule out the allergy. my cat began overgrooming and they found a wheeze leading to xrays, a bronchitis or asthma diagnosis, and clavamox in case its bronchitis. hes been wheezing all year, my old vet never mentioned it but I always heard it!! they also never mentioned his teeth being irritated and needing cleaning!!! this place is great, your pets are in SMART hands that actually want to see them get better. please be patient and appreciative of the care they are able to provide because its better than a lot of other places around here!!! i did take my cat to AMC pleasanton for more affordable teeth cleaning($400 bloodwork, $399 cleaning). But Campus is our official family vet. THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Angeles. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

I cannot recommend Campus now that they've been bought by private equity firm AmeriVet in 2025. It's been months, and they still haven't given us my pet's written prescriptions for her medications. Campus was recently sold to AmeriVet, a private equity firm, as of July 2025. Now, all of the systems have been migrated over to the private equity firm's systems, including their software, operating procedures, and even the pharmacy. This has resulted in the clinic providing sub-par care, withholding or heavily delaying distribution of prescriptions, and making it difficult to use any systems outside of the private equity firm's stack of services (which they can charge whatever they want for). On average, this has led to about a 30% increase in cost for pet care at Campus, compared to both pre-acquisition prices and non-private-equity clinics. I just learned that 3 of her medicines are now 350% more expensive than they were before. The vets here are amazing. It's unfortunate that they have to deal with the bureaucracy of the system imposed by the private equity firm, which prevents them from giving their pet patients the best care.
Wonderful thoughtful care.

Hi, Lisa. Thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience. We truly appreciate it!
It pains me to write this review, because campus vet has given adequate care to my dog over the years. My dog was treated at a specialty hospital for kidney disease. A few months ago, very sadly, he died. The specialty hospital notified Campus Vet and, I never heard one word of condolence from them. Even after sending an email expressing my sadness at their lack of respect, giving them the opportunity to make this right. This is not how you honor the memory of any animal in your care, or their humans who love them. I will not bring my next dog to Campus Vet.

Avoid! Been going here for 10 years. They were recently purchased by a larger corporation and replaced all vet techs and front of house staff. Since then it's been a disaster every visit. They overbook appointment slots. One person knows how to schedule appointments. Every time I'm there I have to triple check what I'm being charged for matches what the doctor ordered. The meds I used to get same day they now force you to order online and it takes up to a WEEK to be approved. Last visit someone asked me why I was still sitting around the lobby when they had my cat in the back!

Why didn’t they give them at the time I was there? When I called, no explanation and they said I denied heartworm test which I didn’t. Campus vet has definitely gone downhill over the last few years.
