Mike was on time, but happy to bear with us, as we were running 10 minutes behind. Then he sold us on spending LESS money than we thought we needed to - what an integrity move! We'll definitely call again should the need arise.
Mike did a great job for consulting work for my mold issue. He was very personable and knew what he was talking about.

Update- my 3rd time using this company and still strongly recommend! Mike and Ross are seriously THE BEST most mindful souls. Ross is very educational as he studied microbiology. He’s having to answer any questions that you might have Mike is amazing. I was let go of my lease with a full deposit and rent return while he was at my apartment testing for mold. I only had to pay for what was done since it didn't need sent to the lab considering the complex did not want to deal with the results. Highly recommend! I have also used his partner, Ross, who is incredibly educated in biology and a great person to get information from. You can’t go wrong with them! They do not do remediation, which is why you want to use them to insure accuracy. Anywhere that tests and also does remediation can con you into additional services that may be unnecessary. In one event, I called Mike and he told me that from my description of the property, as “uncle Mike” he said just take their option to leave and not test, talking himself out of the job. He said “I’d rather live on a boat in the middle of the ocean than stay somewhere like you’re describing, since they gave you the option to break the lease with no penalty- they see you as a walking liability. Leave.” That being said there are TONS of slumlords, including apartments, that have mold. I’ve moved too many times over mold issues and illness. I used them again BEFORE renting the property I am in now, came back clear- I’ve gained 10+ lbs after being emaciated for a year. ** ALSO Just remember- before using ANY mold test company, **especially if provided by a property manager**- they always do indoor and outdoor samples. Always ALWAYS leave windows shut, dehumidifiers and purifiers off for at LEAST 24 hours to get accurate results. The apartment didn’t mention this when they did their test and it resulted in a botched conclusion because I had several Hepa purifiers and dehumidifiers running AND had my sliding door open to have as much fresh air as possible. It is essential to know what necessary steps are to get accurate results. Especially when using a company provided by a landlord as they will not tell you. If there is visible mold, it takes 200k+ spores to create the cluster to be visible. Always ask for swabbing in the worst area(s) and do not coat anything yourself with paint or microbiome before testing. Stay away from visible mold without proper remediation and retest. Especially when buying a home! When renting,, always ask to see the exact unit you’ll be living in. Investigate the entire building and especially your unit. If there’s water damage, there’s likely hidden mold. Also use moisture meters to check walls. It can make some people very sick while not affecting others depending on your immunity. Regardless over time- mold can and will make you sick. Always air on the side of caution when moving into a new place. If there are active leaks- call city codes to inspect but pass on the unit. Force them to prepare it to be safe for the next renters.
