I don't usually leave reviews, but I absolutely had to this time. And I apologize in advance for the incredibly long review. But I promise you, it's worth it!
So it all started when some idiot dropped a chair right in front of me on I-15 and I clipped it with the corner of my bumper. Luckily it didn't do any lasting damage to the car beyond cosmetics, but needless say I was pretty upset about the whole thing - until I found Ogden Body Shop, that is.
I received quotes from several shops that were all very helpful (and right around my deductible, prompting me to just pay out of pocket), but if you've read any of the other reviews of Ogden Body Shop, rest assured they are 100% accurate. From the moment I walked in the door, Josh and Melissa treated me like we were old friends, and showed so much compassion for my situation that I immediately knew this was where I had to go (and their quote came back significantly lower than anyone else's - BONUS!). And at every step from there, they took meticulous attention to every detail of my experience. Here are just some of the things they did:
On the day of my drop-off, they said they would try to have a loaner vehicle ready for me to take (seriously, what body shop even does that anymore?). Unfortunately, five others showed up to drop their cars off the same morning, so they were plumb out of loaners by the time I got there. But Josh took the time to drive me home to my motorcycle so I could get to work and around town.
They called me back the next day to inform me that a couple of other parts were also needing to be replaced to return the car to full factory condition, but I just didn't have the finances for it, so they told me they would just leave them off and do the work as requested. Two days later, the work was done, but when Blaine called to let me know, his voicemail said the total price was about $250 higher than the original quote. When I called back to ask why, he said it was because of some scans they have to do on newer vehicles to ensure sensors and other electronics that may have been affected by the damage were not malfunctioning, but that we could discuss it further when I got there. But to my surprise, when Josh arrived at my home to bring me back to the shop (yeah, he did that!), he told me he had already comped the charges! He also said that he had taken the extra time to buff out all the discoloration on the rear bumper where the previous owner's wife had accidentally backed into a garbage can - something I had never even mentioned!
Seriously, these guys went so far beyond what I came in and asked them to do, and their work is so absolutely beautiful, I will never go to another body shop again (if I ever have to, which I'm obviously hoping I don't). And, when it was done, Blaine gave me a whole instructional on what car washes to use and/or not use and how to use them, soaps, etc. to preserve the finish as well as possible - yet another thing I've never had another body shop do!
Oh, and BTW. The day I was supposed to pick up my car was the day of the big storm in Kaysville - you know, the one with the hail and the tornado and all that. So they were already busy with extra quotes and estimates, and on top of that, I didn't even make it home until 10 minutes to close because of the storm. But Josh still stayed late to get me my car back that day, and Blaine stayed to make sure I knew exactly how to care for my new paint job. The only negative comment I can make on this entire experience is that the car took a couple days longer to finish than they originally said it would, but I just chalk this up to the extra work they picked up the same day I took my car in. Not a big deal me, though I am absolutely certain that if I had needed it sooner, it would've been done sooner. Ogden Body, thank you SO much for the wonderful experience! I apologize for the SUPER long review, but you guys absolutely deserve it! I will be recommending you to absolutely everyone I know!
