After a horrible fall, while on a trip with our 13 yr old grandson, and while trying to figure out what 2 surgeries, a year long or longer recovery would look like. After resigning from my good paying nursing job due to inability to stand or walk, I had no clue how we were going to make it. Even though we were in financial hardship due to the loss of income, I did not want to sue someone and put them in financial hardship. I knew liability insurance should cover my medical, pain and suffering and lost wages. I prayed about the situation. After being given the run around by the company responsible, I googled my situation. I was immediately placed in a lawyer pool. A lawyer called me, I thought it was looking up and then they quit contacting me and finally fizzled out. I was very discouraged. I prayed again for God to give me wisdom.
While unable to walk, I was watching football with our grandson and a commercial came on for sloan law firm. It caught my attention and I told God...I will try sloan law firm. If nothing happens I will know this is not the direction I need to go.
The first call to Sloan left me in tears. Tears of relief. I felt like someone understood me and cared about my situation. Over the course of several calls, they walked me through what to expect and how slow the legal process can be. They did not sugarcoat things, but at the same time, they gave me hope. Justin Smith and Lida Vega were an amazing team, walking me through the legal process and answering questions. Justin never rushed me on the phone and always made sure I understood what he was doing, asking if I was OK with the direction they were going in and just listening. I had great confidence that God had put exactly who I needed to handle this legal issue for me in my path. Justin is so knowledgeable and was able to know what moves would happen next. He always protected me, knowing what the best move was or wasn't in my case.
This is the first time I have needed a lawyer so it was a little scarey, but I trusted Justin and the outcome was better than I anticipated or hoped for.
Thank you Justin Smith and Sloan Law Firm for bringing some light to a dark/hard time in my life and for making sure I enjoy life without worrying about how we were going to pay bills. I am so very grateful.
