I worked with Anne four times over the years after a positive experience my in-laws had with her decades ago. Based on that history, we trusted her recommendation of a contractor during our home project.
Unfortunately, that recommendation led to years of serious problems and significant financial hardship for our family. When we brought our concerns to Anne, we felt dismissed, and it was disappointing to learn she continued working with the same contractor afterward.
A realtor’s recommendations carry a lot of weight. Based on our experience, we no longer trust Anne’s judgment or recommendations and would not choose to work with her again. I’m rating three stars as I don’t want to hold the actions of one against the whole.

When i bought my house 6 years ago I was told many things a walking path for safe short walk to school 5 more houses getting ready to be finished before end of year. All lies nothing new built son already graduated high school and path was never completed. Hell the road isnt even finished due to all the issues with the developer this company worked with. I have already had to replace the heating system. I am paralyzed from chest down and it is a perfect layout so I didnt do as much research as I should of. So part my fault. The realtor i learned very unethical. They cant sell the remaining lots for a reason. And others are stuck with land they bought cant build and cant sell. Which actually I am fine with another year and the land will grow and we get extra privacy at end of dead end road. Just feel bad for those that purchased land to build and was never able to as of yet. Also the same reason every house that is for sale now 3 at moment 2 already pending the 3rd just got listed. They sell fast all have been a different realtor wonder why? Everyone on street is aware

In looking back at 2021 when you purchased your home, the listing agency and your buyer agency were not Sprague and Curtis. These were actually two other real estate companies. It didn't feel like we were searching for homes with a managing partner of the leading, full-service real estate agency in central Maine; it felt like we were house hunting with a friend who just happens to know a LOT about the local real estate market. We used Sprague and Curtis to sell our home last year. Anne Castonguay, our agent, was incredible. From the first meeting when we were interviewing potential realtors she stood out as incredibly professional and prepared.
Selling a home can be incredibly stressful, but Anne was always available with guidance, suggestions, and support, while never being overbearing. Whether it was questions about closings, legal , how to stage our house, and where to focus our energy in preparing to put the house on the market, her advice was on point and accurate. Anne’s experience and knowledge made the whole process go smoothly and successfully.
