We are so thankful for the Goddard school of Federal Way, and specifically Miss T and Miss Fitima! Our daughter started part time child care at 13 months at a different care center and unfortunately it did not work out for us. Later on we found Goddard of Federal Way, and the staff was so confident in their ability to help our daughter make the childcare transition. Fast forward 4 months later, and our daughter is happy and thriving. We are so proud seeing her progress and knowing she’s in safe and loving hands. Our two children were enrolled in Goddard for the last 18 months and we experienced both highs and lows with their school. The thing of utmost importance, our children's well-being and care, was 5/5 at their school. The teachers in each of our children's classrooms truly made our experience positive overall. We saw immense growth in each of our children both socially and academically while enrolled at Goddard. The low marks for Goddard all center on 2 key themes: professionalism and effective communication. These two opportunity areas were not experienced inside the classroom, but rather, with the school's administration. We experienced untimely or absent communication, disorganization, mismanaged health and safety scenarios, a lack of responsiveness to parent communications, and a lack of professionalism when receiving feedback. This trend began on our children's first day of school when it was evident that their staff was unprepared for their arrival even though it was made clear and agreed upon by both parties when we made deposits and plans for their start date. It continued with a few glaringly obvious examples, one of which was a HFM outbreak that was ill managed and caused nearly every family in the school to have their children out for 5-7 school days over a 4 week period of time. The most recent example is that we received an invoice for one of our children for the month following our withdrawal date when we gave a month greater than the required 30 day notice. While the care of our children will always be what we put first, a busy family with job and other commitments is greatly impacted by these areas of opportunity that have not improved sufficiently over the last 18 months. Moreover, feedback is a gift and was not just taken poorly but was acted on in unprofessional manners in multiple scenarios. For the aforementioned reasons, we have made the decision to transition to another school for our children. I sincerely hope that the administration begins receiving and appropriately actioning feedback for their opportunity areas so that their site management matches the quality of their teachers.

Please do your research before trusting this school with your child. The building is beautiful, but my experience was the complete opposite of what I expected. I found the staff to be rude, disorganized, and unwilling to take accountability when concerns were raised. Instead of taking responsibility, I felt like my child was blamed for their shortcomings. I never felt like my child was genuinely cared for or supported. When it comes to our children, safety and quality care should always come first, and unfortunately that was not our experience. Parents, please do your homework before enrolling your precious child here.

Our two sons are thriving at the Goddard School of Federal Way. Our youngest started in the infant classroom when he was five months old. Miss Casey and Miss Emily have created a loving, nurturing and educational environment in the infant classroom. Our older son has so much fun in the Twos classroom with Miss Celine. His days are filled with a great combination of activities and free play. It’s wonderful knowing that our sons are excited at drop-off!
