Very reliable, regular lawn service. I recently had Turf Tenders do a lot of extra tree trimming and bush trimming. I have a lot of trees and shrubs. They cleaned up everything nice and neat. As I get a bit up in age, it is nice to know Turf Tenders can take care of things.

I had a terrible experience with this company and would stay away. Poor work AND poor customer service.
We asked them to do a project to level our yard and plant new seed. Both myself and husband talked with them about what the job would look like. When we got home - the job was nothing like we discussed. When I called with my concern - they agreed to come look at it However, when I talked with them in the phone, I tried to ask them about additional services to get the yard looking how I had originally and they just didn’t seem interested. They did provided me with a very small discount on the job.
This summer my yard has been full of weeds like never before even though I treated the same as I always have in the past. I am now having to pay a different lawn company to come in and fix the mess. Where they planted grass is only crab grass. I called today to try and see what their “grass garauntee” was and was told this was my fault for not treating. but I could pay for them to come treat it now. Why wasn’t I offered this in the spring be for it became a problem? The photo shows where the seed was planted. It has now been treated and is brown because it is nothing but weeds.

I have used Turf Tenders for 2+ years. Here is my overall experience:
- Initial communication: 5 out of 5, very professional and polite.
- Ongoing communication: 2.5 out of 5, they are usually responsive to calls and emails; the major issue I have is that they don't communicate on when they are coming out to powerseed in fall let alone spray or fertilize. It would likely be less of an issue if you have them mow, but it becomes a problem when you do your own mowing and want to time it right before seeding. Similar problem occurs when you are overseeding yourself and they come out for weed control. I asked a few times to let me know when they will come, and they said they will try but eventually just came at an unexpected time and performed their service.
- Weed control: 3.5 out of 5, their weed prevention plan seems to be effective for normal weeds, but bermudagrass and nutsedge still take over every summer in parts of my lawn so I had to spray them myself this summer. They did once spray for nutsedge last year after I asked and it was effective but only for a short while as it grew again. In the initial communication, they said the bermuda will go away over time with their service but that did not happen. My neighbor's weed control service does a better job as they are much more attentive to where the bermuda is growing, makes sure to spray multiple times for any missed spots, etc.
- Work: 2 out of 5, I have watched them work on the lawn and they are super quick. Oftentimes they would be there for 3 mins and leave. Sometimes the side of the house or other parts of the lawn would be left untreated. I had high hopes after powerseeding last fall but it did not make much of a difference - not sure why - I saw the lawn aerated but since they say the seeds are buried by the machine, I couldn't see any of the seeds and new grass germination was barely seen even in empty spots of the lawn. I had to overseed myself afterwards in late fall and in spring. There was an incident where they sprayed our back yard and almost killed our $300+ ornamental tree - it looked ugly that year but eventually recovered the next year. Accidents can happen and they were willing to replace the tree if it dies, but no apology given was the part that bothered me the most. A simple sincere apology would have worked wonders. I eventually elected to not have them spray our fenced-in backyard after that incident.
- Pricing: 4 out of 5, reasonably priced compared to competition, but I don't always feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
Maybe my expectations were too high after seeing others with better results through them, but I think they can improve in certain areas such as regular communication, addressing special needs (bermudagrass and nutsedge in my case) or concerns with lawn, being more careful when spraying around ornamental trees and gardens. My annual service is currently ongoing but I may have to re-evaluate after this fall. Most importantly, my lawn isn't looking that great at the moment.
