This clinic made a mistake scheduling my kitten vaccination and I had to repeat the sequence.
I checked with them when scheduling the vaccine appointment if it was correct, and they assured me they were following the schedule.
On the next appointment, they told me I had missed the date to get the feline leukemia…
The Berkeley Animal Hospital provided wonderful and kind emergency care for our elderly dog who had an infected wound in her front paw from a foxtail that was deeply embedded. She required surgery to remove it and they answered all of our questions with kindness and deep knowledge of the procedure and our concerns. Their entire staff was kind and considerate. Their prices were much better than the other vets we contacted and I can wholeheartedly recommend them for basic to emergency care.

We’ve been bringing our senior dog to Berkeley Animal Hospital for almost three years now. Between routine wellness exams, checking various lumps and bumps, and dental surgery, our boy has been a frequent visitor, and we have never had a single negative experience.
He has seen almost all of the vets here, and every single one of them is fantastic. We adore Dr. Ruta and Dr. Holliday! We just saw Dr. Moulton for the first time yesterday and she was so lovely and thorough. They are so kind, patient, and deeply thoughtful with our dog (and us!), always accommodating his anxiety to ensure he feels as safe and comfortable as possible. The vet techs are awesome and so sweet and gentle with our boy.
On top of their wonderful care, they are always transparent about pricing, and our final bill often ends up on the lower end of their estimates. The administrative staff is equally lovely and always helpful, whether on the phone or in person. We couldn't ask for a better care team!

Update: Still loving this practice. We get personalized service for our nervous pup, lots of attention and treats, and they've even made it so you can pay in the exam room in case your dog is reactive to others in the waiting room. Vet techs are so sweet, and they have a great app (Otto) that makes it 1,000% easier to get in touch and plan your appointment!
Super Great first impression! Went looking for a new vet that is independently owned and operated after many years at VCAs who just couldn't keep staff on board, leading to inconsistency in service. Found these folks and WOW - I am charmed. Front desk reception is super welcoming and helpful. One caveat is the reception area is super small, so I imagine some conflicts between pets might happen occasionally.
My dog saw Dr. Schneider, who was very kind and super sweet to our dog, allowing plenty of time to let her sniff and get acquainted. The exam was thorough, she needed a bunch of vaccines and a blood draw, and all things went pretty smoothly with the vets techs and other staff. They even gave her a squeezy cheese mat to lick!
Hopefully this will turn into a long term relationship for our dog and this vet practice - switching vets every couple of months was getting pretty old. Thanks for a great first visit, BAH!

Death by a thousand paper cuts. I'm so disappointed because I think the veterinarians are strong. But it is SO hard to get anything done here. In the past 4 months alone... they lost a faxed vaccine record and it took them 45 minutes with me waiting in office to find it (I had even called ahead), completely forgot a vaccination I requested so now I have to come back 2x more (a visit has never taken less than an hour), I had to explain to a vet tech how to read a vaccine schedule, have brought my reactive dog to the lobby 2x handed me the leash and watched him lose his mind with agreement both times they would wait until I had paid, multiple visits well over 2 hours long for routine care, 20+ minute checkout experiences, being mischarged for a medication I told them multiple times I am not purchasing, needing to request records to be sent multiple times (once for a socialization class which we then missed without refund because BAH never sent them despite 48 hr notice and 2 follow up calls), 3+ week gaps every single time I have requested for a tick/flea preventative refill (I insisted on a full year rx most recently, despite agreement was handed a 3 month rx then had to call and negotiate to get it fixed, "'it's easiest if you just fill this one and request 9 months next time'... 'easiest for who?!'")... AND now have tick-related disease... with a 10 day delay between their receiving these results and relaying them to me, I had to call 4 more times to follow up. It is becoming too hard to bring a family of multiple animals here. They're too disorganized. Nothing egregious alone, but this all has added up to an enormous headache and stress being a client here. I feel like I have to lead a full campaign for anything my pets need.

Their pricing is transparent and while it sometimes requires an assessment, it ensures they are set up to give the best care possible to that patient. The physical space and protocols are all built around what is best for the animal. We highly recommend Dr. Moulton but this is a strong team overall who have our trust.
