hello, We had a gas insert installed and the owner(Peter) was always very informative and always made himself available if I had any questions. They also have a great protocol for laying tarps, plastic, and etc for the other work we had done. I absolutely would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of chimney or fireplace work.!!

Nice guy, showed up on time. Inspection documentation was completed, but things on the form were marked as inspected that were NOT inspected. Did not use camera to inspect flu liner. Did not remove cap on chimney. Quickly determined that fireplace was unsafe and was eager to provide estimates to gut entire mantel, fireplace, interior chimney for $21k vs getting replacement gas unit for $10k. Would have been ok with determination that unit was unsafe if everything had been adequately assessed. Can’t recommend inspection from Midwest Fireplace and Chimney given that stated inspection was not completed.

We're sorry you feel this way, but several statements in this review are simply not accurate. Our technician did complete the requested Level 1 inspection and performed the job according to the scope of the inspection.
We take our inspection documentation and NFPA requirements seriously, and our technicians are trained to document their findings and identify safety concerns appropriately. A Level 1 inspection does NOT automatically require a camera scan or removal of the chimney cap, however, our technician did manage to inspect your flue. Our technician simply documented his findings, which you agreed with and signed off on, and provided recommendations based on the conditions observed and are not an attempt to pressure a customer into purchasing unnecessary work. Additionally, these estimates were put together and sent to you the following day.
We stand behind our technician and the work that was performed, and would be glad to discuss the inspection report and the specific items documented with you directly. Thank you for your feedback and we hope this helps clarify any misunderstanding.

We converted our old open fireplace to a wood burning insert. Great experience with the team all around. Easy to work with on the quote and installed on time. Explained the new system and how to maintain it. Looking forward to our first fire once the temperature cools off and fall/winter sets in!

Repeat customer here. Peter has inspected and swept my chimney several times, and he has always been very professional and courteous. He also took the time to answer all of my questions throughout the process and explain the inspection report. And the house was just as clean when he left as when he arrived - no mess!
